Axial .32 vs LRP .28 Spec 3: Warhead
Okay so I finally have the cash for a new engine. I have heard that either engine will fit in the warhead with out trouble. Well since they are really not that much different in price, which should I get? I think the biggest deciding factor is which is more reliable?
I also need the 3 shoe durtrax evo clutch upgrade and race tank, anything else? I think I remember some one saying that these engines need some shims or something to make the clutch fit?

I would go with the LRP, it has a little less in the bottom end, but the mid and top end if way better and is better for the warhead as the rpm range of the LRP is higher. I have the LRP, and I have tried the axial.32 and the LRP to me is a way better engine, easy to tune and I have had 0 trouble with it.

my axial.32 with pull start was very reliable. always started in less than 3 pulls. i say was, because it's in a revo with ez start now. never tried the lrp.

You need tiger drive s689 (90 degree) to run either the Axial or the LRP. I went to the tiger drive website and used their cross reference chart.

Thanks, where has the LRP Spec 3 in stock?
Tower has the 30$ of any order over $199, but not the LRP in stock, so I can get the axial 32, my evo clutch and fuel tank + clutch tool for 213.73 right now...
Any better deals?
I hear a lot of people saying the LRP is easy to tune, the only experience I have is the super tiger and that has been HORRIBLE, does this mean the axial is gonna be harder to keep tuned?

You can check Horizon Hobbies, they usually have it in stock, but they don't carry much WH parts, I would just wait till it comes in at tower and get it all at once. Plus if you place the order at tower, and the part is not in yet, then you are garanteed to get one of the first ones they get in.

mekong, when i first got my axial.32 for my first warhead, it had pull start. i never had any tuning issues, and it always started easily. prime it, put on the glo, and 3 pulls max.

the axial has more bottom end grunt, not to great top speed unless you gear it better, the LRP has great bottom, awsome midrange and great top end because its RPM limit is higher then the Axial, plus its more fuel efficiant then the Axial, but they are both really good engines, just I prefered the LRP over the Axial.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNXK4&P=7 something like this. they may or may not be needed. only way to know is when you actually set it up.
