make up your mind, instead of flooding the forum with the exact same question over and over and over and over. It gets so dam annoying, if u cant make up your own decision then u will never get a truck, get 1 that u like, dont take everyone elses opinions as everyone has a different understanding of what they like, JUST GET A TRUCK LOL

why not just get the baja instead of spending $30 a gallon on fuel, and $150+ on engines that barely last more than 5 or 6 gallons. just my oppinion.

A good one, too. Those gassers look like a lot of fun. Some day...

Then get a Firehammer or a Traxxas Gas-Powered Buggy (don't remember the name of this one.) You'll end up with about $100-$200 for extras.

but think about it. if your engine were to last 7 gallons. thats $210 on fuel alone. where with the baja, those engines last years and its only $2-$3 per gallon on gas. gas engines are around the same price as a nitro engine, maybe a little more. and you dont need to spend $1000 on it. ive seen plenty sell for $900 or less. theres one on ebay now for $855. im not trying to talk you out of getting a savage, it is deffinatly a nice truck.

Get the Baja, it's awesome. My car was hit and I repaired it myself (200k and ugly to begin with), I'm using the insurance check to buy a Baja. A couple of gallons of gas, some pre-mix and you can drive forever. They're well built and the aftermarket for them looks like it's starting to take off. $1000 budget makes the Baja a logical choice, there's nothing like large scale vehicles.

I should add that I have a Savage 25 RTR and an Aftershock, both great trucks. I love them but they are not in the same league as a 1/5 scale. Pictures do not do the Baja justice, if you see one first hand the first thing you will think is " I MUST HAVE THIS"

I've always been a kit guy but the Savage and Aftershock were hard to pass up at under $400 each. Seems cheap right ? They are both a lot of truck for the money. Then add CVDs, three speed, better radio, servos, etc. and that $400 truck is now an $800 truck. For not much more than a tricked out MT you can have one of the baddest RC cars out right now. Pyro's got a good point, the fuel savings alone will pay for the Baja in 18 to 24 months if you're a hardcore RCer. You'll be happy with the Savage but you'll be the envy of everyone that sees you out there tearing it up with a Baja. Check out the videos in the Large Scale forum, the Bajas are sick.

5b is a blast to drive man. And if your LHS is 1.75 and 2 tolls away then I am sure the LGS (local GAS STATION) is much closer! 45 minute run times... only stop to recharge batteries!!!!

Thats right i don't have one yet, go to the large scale forum section and ASK ALL THE GUYS WHO OWN ONE, then tell me what they said. Almost everyone likes this truck! I've talked to SEVERAL OWNERS because i've been asking questions and i've watched about 50+ videos! Hence why i am buying one in a day or so as soon as we figure out the shipping costs.

I'm not taking anything away from the Baja because they all say it's a great 1/5 scale vechile aslo. I'm just saying the FG MT looks alot better in my opinion, jumps better also. (easily to see if you watch the videos)

Don't even know who he is.
Anyway why don't we get back on the subject and you guit being a little punk. The guy wants to know what truck he should get. Are you saying we can't suggest a truck if we don't personally own that particular truck?
Ok thats what i thought. Moving on...
My vote goes to the FG MT

If not that then i suggest either
Baja
GST 7.7
Savage X SS
