Default tnx 5.2r+30% nitro=? how long will the engine last?

just bought the tamiya not long ago. been bashing with mates for a couple of times and has withstood quite a lot of hard abuse. i have been jumping this thing from 4 to 6 feet and nothing have broke yet. only thing i noticed is that tamiya could have included better shocks on the thing and it has troubles turning flat out. i suppose theres so much power in tghe engine that i dont have traction.
biggest question is, how long will my motor last with 30% nitro. i have been running it with 20% so far and its quick already but i want more power. have any of you guys ran 30% on your 5.2 yet? whats the outcome? thanks.

usually the motor will last a couple gallons less than if running 20%.... and that all depends on how you break it in and maintain it.

Tuning and maintainence make more of a difference on engine life than the nitro % difference. My TNX 3.0 got about 9 gallons on it running 30%.

so, is your engine still alive?

either way, 9 gallons is pretty darn good running 30%, especially being a racer (I think) and especially on a small block I would think....

If you break the motor in correctly and maintain it - use after-run oil, keep the air filter clean, keep it tuned - not too rich, not too lean, etc.. it'll last a long time... here's a link that'll give you a good idea on how to take care of a motor - [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2786285/tm.htm]here[/link]...read what Fuelman has to say, his 1st post is #6, very good info...

It still runs, but bogs when it warms up, so it's worn out. Not too bad a life for an ABN engine. I replaced it with an OS .18 cvrx. And yeah Ducked, this truck has mainly seen the race tracks.
