Default Hop up parts vs. Stock Parts?

Is it better to use Hop up parts vs. stock parts? Case in point: I was in driving my LST in an open field and I got distracted and ran my truck full throttle into a steel electrical box. The a-arm must have clipped the box as this was the only thing that broke. If I had metal a-arms I would have caused a lot more damage. Plus stock parts are so cheap.

I stick with stock parts unless they are really weak or if the hop up will increase the performance. And you're right, aluminum arms would have just caused something else to break.

I dont like to use aluminum. If you crash, somthing needs to give and asorb the shock or impact. Its a lot cheaper to replace plastic than it is to replace twisted aluminum. Aluminum is good for shelf queens and looks, but that's just my two cents

It depends on the part. For instance, the LST 1 came with plastic differential covers which split easily under load. Going to aluminum fixes the problem. There are many examples of where going to aluminum, or some other metal, is better than sticking with a stock plastic part. You just have to take into consideration the impact factor, as has been previously explained.

this is an area where you gotta love rpm...they make great quality parts AND they make many of them in white so you can dye them your own color, therefore making your own color scheme. I would love to have a hopped up aluminum car but id drive that more carefully then a stock because 1 ill ruine something else that is mine or the citys or another persons, or if i break my part it costs way more to fix....of course some parts are better aluminum but mainly i like impact parts to be plastic. If you have a savage then the savage 25 a arms are great because of their thickness

Im thinking that Im going to get alloy body post lol. I have broke two of em and that was not even on bad crashes. The bad crashes just set em up for the easy break lol
