My next Savage engine???
What am I going to do when I wear out my Hyper 8 port.
Look at this beast . Wow!!!!! :stupid: Looks like a bored/stroked Picco 0-1 with a pullstart.
Also looks identical to the Orion .26 (also made by Picco). But Ofna got the colors right.
What are the chances of this one going for under $200? :spinnyeye

You aren't worried about wearing out ur 8 port already, are u?
I just installed my 8 port this morning. It rained all day but I got to run it a little. That thing is awsome!! I ran several tanks through it just at idle or a little above.
I have some questions about the tuning of the needles. Where is your high and low speed needles set? If I set mine where the book says to put them, the thing is soooo rich that it wont run. At the stock settings, it will pump a tank of fuel out in about 5 or 6 minutes!
Thanks ........Brewyet

Brewyet,
My needles are as follows: LSN flush with the casing, MSN flush with the casing, HSN one turn from fully closed. With these settings I run temps 220-240 degrees with plenty of smoke. I run Blue Thunder 20% fuel and a MC-8 plug. Depending on how your engine is set up, fuel you are running, atmospheric conditions, etc... your settings will vary. 2 1/2 to 2 turns from closed seems to be a good starting point for the HSN. Then tune from there.
No. I am not worried about my Hyper yet. I only got 2 gallons thru it. So I think it will be good for at least 2 more.

Looney (and/or anyone else), Where do you measure your head temp at? If I measure at the head bolts I get a higher reading than anywhere else. Is it true to say that I should take the highest reading and go with that? Or is it the temp of the glow plug?

I don't know if it's true. But I take the highest reading just to be on the safe side. But I would really like to hear what everyone else says.
