RE: Engine upgrade mgt
check out the mach 427. I think there was a post on this and the guy has the sts .30 I think. go on youtube and look for lst2 vids and see it in action that has the 427. I would like to see some vids with sts or axial engine.

RE: Engine upgrade mgt
lrp z.28r is another good one from what I hear. My final two choices are going to be down to axial or lrp or the 427. Not quite sure. Currently saving up for an old trans am so my rc budget has been cut back quite a bit.

from what ive heard you cant beat sts for the money and power. i havent heard much about the surefire, and ive heard mixed reviews about the os. but the os is a $200+ engine where as the sts is $130-$140. then you could buy something with the money you saved. just my oppinion.

Price and quality and power wise, go with the axial. The OS is a good engine, but alot of mixed revues on it, the wasp I haven't heard much about, the picco if its not the .27, then stay away, and from what I'm told the surefire has a weak spot in the crank and they break at the con-ron. These are just my opinions and some from experience. If I were you I wouldn't rule out the LRP, its a great power house.

Yes, it will, but if your goal is to just pull wheelies, you should stock up on tranny gears, too.
Another vote for the LRP Spec 3, here. You can also pick up a Dadder's modified STS .30 for $170 on ebay. That's a pretty good bang-for-the-buck purchase.

LRP .28. I actually have a Mach 427 in mine which is great. That will wheelie all day long but its not as torquey as the LRP so I say go with that. I would have got one myself but I got the mach at $50 cheaper

You can run Tmaxx wheels. I have the standard MGT ones for bashing, and proline 23mm offsets for racing and fast driving.

RE: Engine upgrade mgt
how u gonna mount it on the MGT? Stock engine mount wont fit it, its to big. U will have to use a GST engine mount, and mod it to fit if u want it to work

RE: Engine upgrade mgt
I think you should keep the 4.6 that came w/ it, add a LST2 HT pipe, some aftermarket clutch shoes like the OFNA, a forward only kit (if you have not already done that) and drop a tooth on the pinion. The Picco is a very high revving little powerplant and you can drop a tooth in pinion, really feel the power on takeoff and midrange, and to tell you the truth, i cant really tell that I lost a little top end. I GPS tested this setup and got 38.4mph on the street.
You will save some money get alot better performance out of the 4.6.
