Just found something to help with pull cord string. I used some of the string wax from my compound bow to treat the cord. Just rub the stick on the cord and work it in with your fingers till it's smooth. Reconditions your string and creates abrasion barrier. You can get it at most hunting supply stores in the archery section for a couple of bucks. Happy crankin

Hoyt target bow and a Bear Fire something hunting bow. Collecting a lot of dust here lately. Got into it with my dad about 12 years ago. Had fun but he lost interest so I kinda did too. Not too many knowledgable people around to help. I just knew how to shoot it not a lot of the setup.

That's a great idea about using the bow string wax on the pull chord! It makes good sense. I am using the same string on my bow (going on three years now) because of using the bow string wax. It keeps it in nice condition so I use it after every outing.

I am like you however. I have not been shooting much of late. I intend to do a little more this summer since we finally built our shop/carport last summer.

It amazes me how a product can be used in another sport/hobby!

Hoyt makes a nice bow!

If it's nylon which I'm sure it is just pull it out and use a lighter to heat it slightly. It will melt the freys and tighten the cord.

Another idea I've heard is to use fuel tubing around the bottom part.. and oil the chord too.. it makes a killer combo!

Yeah, I mostly shot targets too. Anyway, they are pretty safe in front of me. By the time I get ready to go hunting I'm tired of shooting it again.

Just the mere thought of someone shooting an arrow through something thats living and breathing gives me the creeps lol.

Humans shooting humans? Get over it! Were too intelligent for our own good!
Funny outlook but its true!

Oh well this aint no logiv/hunting forum.. back to frayed pull start chords and sore arms
