Electric Truck to get
I'm looking into getting my first monster truck... right now I have a bunch of touring cars but nothing is more fun than jumps and all the crazy stuff you can do with off road vehicles..
My question is this.. Which is best?? I'm looking at the E-Maxx but my buddy just bought one and beat me to the punch.. is there anything else that would compare or is the emaxx the end all be all truck??
And if i do go with the emaxx, does it come with a clear shell?? I wouldn't want to have the same exact thing he has.. and I'd have to hop it up a bit..

powerhungry....The EMaxx is certainly at the top of the "food chain"....so to speak when it comes to electric RC Monster Trucks.
I have one and it is quite powerful. You can order them in different body colors...that are painted from the factory....and you can also buy aftermarket bodies of your choosing that you can paint if you want to.
The EMaxx has two 550 motors...it takes two battery packs to power it....I use 2 /3000 mah NIMH battery packs in mine and it's brutal. It wil lflip itself over backwards from a stand still. It has a two speed tranny so it can achieve around 30+ mph "out of the box". It drives nice....handles nice....looks great....just like it's brother the TMaxx. Also...you can buy parts for it pretty much in any hobby store as Traxxas is one of the top brand name sellers out there. I understand that Traxxas support is tops althought I have not ever had to use it.
If your looking to buy one soon....before the end of Feburary....you can get a $15.00 discount from Tower Hobbies. It sells for around $319.00 there.
If it's an electric monster truck your looking for.....I think you'll like the EMaxx.

Good Luck!

cool thanks.. Yeah, i just spoke to him and i guess he got the older model with the one motor.. pretty weird cause i didn't read anything about it.. he got his for 289 including a charger and a 3000+ battery.... I already have my "WISH LIST" on Tower and got the $15 off thing.. it's gonna be a birthday present from my wife.. hehehe I'm getting the hummer body with it, 2 3000Mah Nimh batteries and a charger, since i only have nicad chargers.. I was thinking of getting a couple of motors for it but now it seems i won't have to.. Thanks!

Good for you!!! I think your going to enjoy it.
I also have a great website for buying batteries at a very good price so if you haven't bought your's yet.....let me know and I'll send you the link. We can't post links to eBay here so I can PM you or send it by email.
I'm curious....have you considered a nitro monster truck at all?

a link to those batteries would be cool.. but yeah.. i didn't consider any nitro stuff since I don't like the gas spewing out and all the clean up.. I know i have to clean up the truck anyways but I still don't like the smell of gas. I used to have a gas airplane and i didn't like the gas smell at all.

hehehe.. I know what you mean.. I have a 3 year old and she loves working on the cars with me, i have her wrenching and stuff.. hehehe she also plays with the cars (CRASH the cars i mean)... I don't want to expose her to the fumes..
If it was before, I would love to get NITRO... reasons why i'm not:
fumes
clean-up
maintenance
keep having to buy nitro
(do the prices go up as well like gasoline?)
can't play indoors.. in my living room and stuff..

AHAHAHA YOU ALL ARE FORGETTING THE BEST MT EVER ELECTRIC WISE! lmao I'd take this truck over a Tmaxx even or a Savage. THE TXT-1 is killing all electric monster trucks in just about all categories! Any1 who disagrees obviously hasn't read about it. Plus it is built by one fo the best companies out there, Tamiya. Man am i sick of all the Tmaxx / Emaxx being the best BS.. arg!

you have to be joking... the TXT-1 kit alone costs the same as a RTR Tmaxx ... its like the pimp of all electric MT then the clod is 2nd, followed by the emaxx

TXT,S ARE GOOD BUT THE CLOD SUCKS.DONT GET ME WRONG I HAVE 2 OF 'EM BUT IN THERE STOCK FORMS YOU JUST CANT GET THE M TO MOVE FAST ENOUGH TO DO ANY GOOD THATS WHY PEOPLE UPGRADE THE HELL OUT OF EM.....AS FOR THE TXT YA ITS A GOOD TRUCK....BUT IT DOESNT HAVE THE FOLLOWING THAT THE TMAXX HAS IN THE WAY OF UPGRADES OR PART AVAILIBILITY TRUTH BE TOLD YOU CANT GET PARTS FOR IT READYILY AS YOU CAN FOR THE TMAXX OR THE EMAXX FOR THAT MATTER.SO I SAY STICK WITH THE ONE THAT OVER 300 COMPANIES ARE BACKING WITH PARTS..........E-MAXX IS THE ONE AND ONLY

well yes i've seen a tricked out txt the trouble is unless you own fort knox.you dont have much in the way of a tricked out truck as for the following companies...pound for pound the tmaxx is a much more stable platform unless you after a rock crawler then the txt would out do it.as for the write ups on the tmaxx vs. the txt i think they are both great trucks but as it stands both in economics and availiability of merchandise the t-maxx out weighs the txt 10 fold....you see im not trying to be bias what im trying to perform here is an accurate comparison between the 2 trucks..and the stores out there that have parts readily available to the average hobbyist ..after all not everyone can afford a trricked out t-maxx or a tricked out txt but as a general rule you have to take into account the people that are just getting into the hobby as well as the seasoned hobbyist ...and the value that i put on the tmaxx is by far the better of the 2 trucks not by the comparison standards but by the avaliability of both hop-up parts and upgrade parts(the difference between the 2 is simple) a part that has no beneficial upgrade to an r/c vehicle other then perceived as eye candy is considered an upgrade ......but a part that not only may appeal to the hobbyist as eye candy but also improves the performance of an r/c vehicle is considered a hop-up and that CASEY is what the hobbyist are looking for in the way of customizing their vehicles .and as we all seem to forget from time to time is....is that we are not the person whop originally put the question to this discussion board and that decision IS and Always will be the consumers decision to make.....opinions are good but facts out weigh the opinions
