Default Need advice on which charger to buy

I plan on purchasing an E-Maxx fairly soon. My research tells me that 3000 milliamp batteries are probably best for what I'll be doing--backyard bashing. I'm returning to the hobby after a 16 years absence and WOW have things changed. The hottest vehicle available during my hayday was the Super Champ Buggy. I've heard that I need a charge that cycles my batteries. I've heard good things about the Intelli Peak, Triton by Great Planes and the Mega II. I'd like to charge two batteries at once, but would entertain the notion of buying two charges for less money if they have the right features. Here's what I "think" I need:

Capability of charging 2 batteries at the same time
Discharging capabilities
Cycling capabilities

Thanks for your help guys!

Gregg

The new NIMH batteries do not have the charge memory that NICAD's have, so you don't have to discharge and cycle.

Default Thanks Addict

I've been told that the Nmh's don't have the punch and longevity of the Nicad's. What do you think?

What charger would you suggest if I stick with the Nicad's?

Thanks.

Default ??

Actually, I heard the NImh batteries last longer. I personally use a 1500 mah NIhm battery on my savage (6V) and have never had a problem with it losing power. I use a Hobbico accu-cycle and a Hobbico quick field charger (just not on NImh).

I know some have reported problems with Hobbico equipment, but I have never experienced any.

I use Nicads with with Heli though. Just so I can quick field charge.

Good luck

Duratrax intellipeak charger, it has different models ,

i bought the mini model, you can try plus, or digital.

If you can locate a 2nd generation Novak Mellenium on ebay for cheap that is what I reccomend. The 2nd generation has newer software that is nimh safe. I use mine and it works great! For 50 bucks I cant complain.

Ray

Im not talking about the mellenium pro. Its a 2nd version of the original Mellenium.

Novak IONIC is also a good choice for a charger AC/DC or DC only
