Just dont buy the stock engine and you should be fine. The truck itself though is a tank.

Whats the deal with the stock engine? I am suspicious that it would wear hard because of the displacement. Do people just run high end .28 or .32's then?

I thought it was just a pain to tune. I kept getting air leaks from the exhaust because the header was a pain to get on. Try to get in contact of a member here called "blackrain". He has a nemsis Converted into a racer and I think he uses a .28 without any problems.

I have a stupid question. Are there two 7.7 engines from CEN and if so what is the difference? I hear about corsa 7.7 and NX-76 and sometimes NX-77. I just bought a new NX-76 from a nemesis the other day.

Thanks. I see some people referred to the engine with two different names and wondered. I know they made some changes to them such as the head, carburetor holding pin and the spring/pin to connect the starter shaft to the crank has been removed with a solid pin. I don't like the new setup that permanently connects the starter shaft to the crank.

I've seen on here where some say the CEN's service sucks but I beg to differ. Long story short, my father purchased a new in the box GST 7.7 back this past spring. We broke the engine exactly as described in the manual but after break in was completed, the engine would overheat and eat a glow plug on every run even when adjusted to factory recomended settings. I wrote CEN and had a response from one of their reps in about one day's time who said to remove the engine and return it to them for inspection. I mailed the engine off to them for my father and in about a week and a half from the date I mailed it out, I had a CEN box in my mailbox. It was a completely new engine! We installed it, broke it in, and have had no more problems. I'll admit the 7.7 engine is a little hard to tune but once we got it right, the thing ran like a "scalded dog!" I'd say their service is great from my experience.

The Engine is what made me sell My GST. It had constant over heating problems. The exhaust heard was a PITA to get out without creating any air leaks.

I'm not sure exactly what was wrong with the original engine, but the replacement engine is running fine. It has a defferent head from the original is the only difference that I can see.

HAS ANY ONE WITH A GST 7.7 RACED THE MGT8.0. JUST WONDERING WHAT THE OUTCOME WAS.
I would like to see that race myself! Without driving and MGT 8.0, I have driven the GST 7.7, I would guess the GST would win. The MGT seems like it wheelies to easy from the vids I've watched and the GST just takes off like a rocket without wheeling!

Anybody have a couple of extra GST diffs (hub to hub complete)? I would like to try them in my Hellfire. I have heard tha they will fit and are built stronger. But I don't want to spend the money for new ones incase they don't work.
thanks

I have a MGT! A lot of member give the MGT a lot of crap! From what I read the Savage is the most popular, so it get more respect. I too would like to see the two race! Mater of fact I would like to see the 8.0, 5.9 and 7.7 run just for giggles you know...

Heck yea! Me too! I dont have a 5.9 but I do have a Savage 4.6 and I would gladly run a MGT 8.0 or the GST 7.7. My father has a GST 7.7 but I cant get him to race me. He's afraid we will collide since he isnt a very good driver yet with his 7.7. TheGST is a littlehard to control atfull throttle. Ibelieve its more the tires than anything.I have driven his 7.7 and I believe my 4.6 would win. Maybe someday I will get my chance! LOL! If I ever do I will post the results.

Hey guys...I was wondering if anyone out there has a crank shaft for the 7.7 that they would part with. I've damaged mine and have had to purchase several one way bearings, and I really can't afford $60 for a new one. So if anybody has one for sale or trade please let me know.........thanks............

My kid just added 4 wheel steering to his GST and its a lot of fun in the snow. Way too sensitive for strainaways though. They need to make a way to lock in and lock out the 4 wheel steering.

Does anyone know if you can drop a MGT 8.0 engine into the Genesis?
