Help deciding between T-Maxx 3.3 or LST2
Hi,
I've been researching these two trucks for a while, reading most of the threads on this forum. Just recently I crashed my bike so now I need something to do while healing up.
Years ago I had a few rc cars, all electric and now want to get some thing nitro powered. My friend bought the T-Maxx 2.5, likes it but not sure how this compares to the LST2. Basically I want a truck that is good for jumping out of the box, I don't want to deal with upgrading the parts on a weekly basis. The LST2 looks tougher, really like the larger shocks, metal gear box.
The only down side I see is the lack of parts at my LHS for the LST2, it's mostly T-Maxx. Hopefully with the LST2 I won't need much spare parts. As far as pricing the difference is $150, and with the T-Maxx I would be upgrading the radio just for my perfence.
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks,
Rob

The LST2 is hands-down a better truck. It's bigger, tougher, and more powerful. I can't imagine that you'd ever be disappointed with the choice to get an LST2, and you local shop will probably be able to order parts for you, if you really want to buy from them.

Thanks guys,
I've been leaning towards the LST2 since I've had good experiences with my older Losi cars and trucks. The lack of parts at the LHS isn't a huge deal breaker but you know if a part breaks if nice to have a local source.

LST2 is the best MT out period. But its significantly more than a T-maxx
But if you are interested in a NIB sportmaxx (2wd 2.5 tmaxx) I have one for a great price. PM me if intersted.

the LST2 is probably one of the best packages out there, you get a good radio, good engine, and the truck itself is a good truck all round, a good choice.

Good pick... there really isn't much comparison... I mean, the T-maxx 3.3 is built on old technology... only "new" thing they added was the bigger 3.3 powerplant. the LST2 is much newer technology... and the price range isn't even close... you do get more with the LST2... FM radio and such...

I tested out the stock radio on the T-Maxx and felt really cheap, at least wanted a decent fm radio. After I figured the cost of a new radio, then the larger LST2 shocks the difference in cost wasn't huge. I'll be sure to post some pictures when it arrives.

I say get a Savage! Hahahaha
No seriously, based on your two choices, get the LST2. Its a way tougher truck than the T-Maxx and the LST2 is actually race proven. Also, you can bash the LST2 pretty hard before you break something. The T-Maxx will not take what the LST2 will at all.
I'm surprised you are actually considering a T-Maxx. Traxxas has a way better truck, the Revo. I personally would take a Revo any day over the T-Maxx.
