Default Here's how to mount Imex Jumbo tires on Axial Beadlock wheels

I used Imex Jumbo Swamp Dawg tires and Axial Oversize Beadlock wheels for this project. It's pretty easy to do. All you have to do is cut off the thick inner tire rubber that would normally go in the wheel channels and mount them on the beadlocks. I also trimmed the foam to fit over the wheels. It's that simple. I haven't been able to test the durability of this set up yet, but the tires seem to be clamped in there pretty well. Please give me your opinions.

Ok, tested their durability the other day. No problems. The rims hold the tires nice and tight.

It's been a couple years since I did this mod. I remember having to cut the tire and foam just right to lay properly inside the beadlock. Try tightening one screw completely to pinch the tire and work your way around. Are you using the same axial beadlock rims I used?

I've since mounted proline 40 series tires on these rims and I don't have any more old pics. To me, it sounds like you may have to trim the foam a little more along the sidewalls. The foam is probably putting too much pressure on the sidewalls of the tire, which is forcing the tire out of the beadlock area. Try and shave the foam a little bit at a time to match the sidewall contore between the tire and rim. All you want to cut from the tire was the thick rubber bead inside and retain as much of the rubber sidewall as possible. Post some pics of what your cut tire and foam looks like and I'll tell you if it's been trimmed properly. Don't stress, you'll get it.
