Default cold clutch=slipping??

I have one of the newer magic wheels mt w/.18cxp in it,after about 7 tanks,(break-in) leaned the needles and darn thing runs GREAT,but only after a 3-4 min. warm-up, does the clutch really want to grab....clutch bell (alum)? has'nt deformed (yet) and i'm a wonderin if this is normal,I don't know what the material is that the shoes are made of, and what would be the performance upgrade?still on my learnin curve with this truck, but my savage don't have this issue.....anyone out there have a clue....thanks

no I have'nt (yet),It's weird, after it's all warmed up, it runs great,no slippage or weird noises....[:-],but even if it did pop the spring, would'nt that make it not grab at all???

if the spring came of it wold want to grab even when the engine is at idle because there is nothin holding the shoes back but it could be slipping if you got oil on them or if the shoes have glazed over

thanks for the reply steve,no contamination but if glazed ,would it have this same effect....?could it also be the temper of the spring, when it gets hot it loses it's tension allowing the shoes to bite more effectively? It's really not that big of a concern right now,as i said it runs great when warm...I just needed to recognize/verify a potential problem in the making and for future reference.thanks buddy

no problem, ya if they get warm usually the glaze just kind of ''dissapears'' and when it cools the glaze hardens on the shoes so that would explain what you said but im not sure about the springs i would think that they should be built to remain springy even after warming up

oh ya when it starts to get bad just tak the bell off and take some sand paper to the shoes but rub just hard enough to take away the shine from the shoes
