Default Pro-Line Wabash 17mm 40 Series?

Does anyone know if [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPTH9&P=7]THESE[/link] are tough enough for bashing / backyard racing? My backyard track is pretty small for the MGTs we run on it, so they get somewhat abused. Bad landings, barriers etc.

Thanks in advance

Actually, from a fellow MGTer, DON"T GET EM!!! They work for some, but for others, they suck!

Most people don't know, but Wabash are 1/2" narrower than normal wheels maxx wheels, or the stock MGT wheels. Now, if you get these, the tires will hit the turnbuckles in the front when you turn, killing your turning radius and killing the wheel itselft. Eventually, the wheel will probably grind away and break the inside bead.

Some people don't have problems, but others can't even steer. It's your decision, but I got the Velocities just to be safe...

Thanks for the heads up Evader-mgt. Here is my dilemma. I bought a set of Bowties that were nearly new from a guy. After about 1 bash session the 14mm hex stripped because a wheel nut came loose. I wanted to get bigger hexes, but didn't really want to spring for Dace 23mm adapters right now. I thought the 17mm Wabash wheels would solve it because I can get 17mm adapters for about $4 at Tower. I didn't realize that the Wabash's weren't offset though.

Oh well, easy come easy go...

I wanted them REALLY bad, but I heard they were, uhhh, IDK, in-set. So I said, CRAP!

Glad to help The Dace's are definatly worth it. I've even learned about another advantage to having Daces today, and I've had em for nearly 3 months... Check out the MGT thread and you'll see. lol

Just a friendly warning from my buddys experience, but i believe they hit the turnbuckles, causing horrible steering and extra stress on them.
Some peoples work, but others don't.
Just to let ya know

Thanks Funtana Man. From what people have pointed out to me I have realized that these aren't offset. I know I want offset rims so I think I'll have to go with something else.

Kind of makes a guy wish he would have read the description a little better before he asked the question.
