xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
ok first i know these arent top of the line rigs ,but.
im torn between the new xtm monster mt and the xtm xlb buggy .
i have seen the monster mt in person and i really like it , but i really , really like the xlb buggy, but i havent seen it in person , does someone have a pic of these 2 side by side???
im curious as to the size difference between the 2
also,
i have seen both of these run on video and the xlb seems much faster considering both use the same engine.
does someone have dimentions on the xlb buggy? length width etc......

RE: xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
im kind of leaning towards the buggy for sheer acceleration ,
but the MT might be a better all around choice , being ill only be bashing ,but i might try racing.

RE: xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
With my limited experience with XTM and bashing I can't say I would recommend any XTM product. If you are going to be racing it might be ok, but they aren't nearly as tough as say an MGT. Based on what you have said above and given the choice between the buggy or monster, I would tell you to go buggy for sure. That is at least a few pounds of less impact when you hit something or land off a jump.
Good luck with it.
Good luck with it.

i like the extra ground clearance of the mt , but as you have said , lighter weight couldnt hurt
anybody have experience with both of these??

I say the buggy only because i dont know how strong the mmt is. My neighbor has the xlb and it is strong and fast handles pretty good and is easy to tune. So i am imagining that the mmt will be kinda fast and handle like a mt and with the same engine it should be as easy to tune.

RE: xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
i run the xlb buggy.......among others.......
ill take it any day for bashing over both my mp7 and ofna hyper7.
the size is awsome compaired to anything 1/8 buggy or truggy....mainly the ground clearance is a big plus...aswell as....
it wont flip at high speeds like a smaller buggy or truck...its increadibly stable.
it will out accelorate both and has a top speed near 50 mph..
is tuff as nails..........never had any broken parts...other than becasue i was beating the hell out of it.
that .28 sounds like a dirtbike..........and runs like a top.
xlb............xtra large buggy......has a run time of 10 mins......
i like to spit dirt in my friends faces after they run out of gas on the track..........[>:]
the only thing is if you think your goin to race it on a 1/8 scale track.....not..........you wont have the room ....
or nimbleness of an 1/8 scale buggy/truggy on a track that size............
most places dont even race cars/trucks/buggies of that scale.
other than that.......i didnt buy it for racing....i bought it for bashing.....and for that.... its bad ass [sm=punching.gif]
"magster."...obviously has never actually had his hands in an xlb......[:'(]

RE: xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
actually im 28 and have been in the hobby since i was 12...iv owned i few : a grasshoopper, associated rc 10,monster beetle,
black foot,frog,clod buster, kyosho burns dx,kyosho javalin,inferno mp5,
ofna monster pirate,ofna dominator,serpent vteq 1/8th scale,tmaxx .21 conversion,a shumacher cat..and a oh yea for a short while a mgt....
i currently own....an FG 1/5 scale monster,ofna hyper 7,inferno mp7,raptor 50 v1,v2, trex 450 v2 and my favorite of all of these trucks,buggies.......the xtm xlb.
and yes....you have not run an xtm xlb.......as everyone that owns an xlb...or mamoth(st)....know ..they are vast improvments over the origonal mamoth mt...
i guess if you hit objects and stuff on the regular.....nothing to someone like that is goona be that bash wortly......
i dont know about you....but iv learned over the years...only every other tree/rock is made of rubber. [:-]

RE: xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
i own both and alot of others cars but plain and simple i love the monster mt for anything, turns on a dime. i sold my savage for it. i love this thing now. its seriously everything u could ask for in a truck.
and for the ppl who arent familiar with xtm... its because u dont live near hobbypeople in california.
their buggys have the best engine i have ever ran acrossed in the several years in the hobby.
when i take my xtm stuff to the track i keep up with everyone else so idk what to tell you.
id say the monster mt.
buggys okay compared to it.
if u go buggy go get the xt2 buggy.
unlike other vehicles besides the savage, xtm has a really good product line becuz theres not a whole lot to complain about.
my only problem would be the ****ing pull starts
hope this helps
im positive of what i say and ill back it up 110%
xtm all the way

RE: xtm monster mt -or- xtm xlb.
btw the mammoth that my dad has needed the bracing for front, back and center and thicker towers to hold up. other than that its pretty cool/fast
i did notice that the mmt has enough power to go faster than the gear ratio allows it too
