I believe its a 1/5th scale and it looks like a 2 cycle engine that uses a spark plug. I wonder about the power it might produce, it seems that it might turn at a slower RPM than our engines that we have in our savages and t-maxxes. I could be wrong. It is a cool looking truck though.

guys, I own one of those and also a SAVAGE.
This is a MARDER from FG (made in germany). It has a 23cc two-stroke ZENOAH engine that produces around 5HP. Top speed stock is around 75 - 80 km/h. But with some tuning they are capable of doing more then 100 km/h. These cars are top of the bill. Many (almost all) european championships are won with this mark FG. They cost around 750 dollar , but for US citizens they are cheaper (you don't have to pay 21% taxes).

You can order one (or more) at pitstop tuning center in Holland (europe)
this shop also has a online shop.

I hope this helps.
David.

I just ordered one of those marder buggys.
THEY ARE AWESOME!!!
Trust me, they are alot bigger than they look!
AND they run like a bat out of hell...LOL I was running mine today on 1/2 acre of land and i couldnt get it to top out, and it breaks the tires loose so easily.
Absolutely awesome!
I bought mine from Ron Krikke at netshop. This guy knows his stuff and has great prices! The stock marder buggy can be shipped to the usa for under $700 from him. If you order it from FG america you will pay $900.
In the summer FG is going to make a conversion kit just like that one to make it into a monster truck, check it out on his site.
http://www.netshop.nl/shop/rc/

Here's a picture of it next to an RS4, the picture is of it without stickers or tires.

I think it weighs about 22-25lbs.
It comes build but doesnt include a radio system. I was using a hitec 805bb servo that has something crazy like 323oz at 6v. I'm going to have to step up to a metal gear servo next.

I'll post a picture of it with the tires, wing, etc tonight.

That depends on what has been done to it. And we don't know if this is a stock engine or not.

STOCK Zenoahs on bad pipes run 2HP. Change pistons, pipes, fuel, carbs and you can easily get them past 8HP. There is a kit to change the "innards" and have the engine pushing 5HP for only $159.99

Big boat guys have done this a lot and rocket their boats past 95mph regularly.

What kit is that hpiguy? Are you talking about the 26cc kit? I've been wondering what kind of power increase that would be.

hey all id just like to add my 2 cent worth

traxxas has a 1/6th scale buggy out there and the fg motor sports stock chassis's come with a mildly modified 23cc zen but they claim from the factory 4.5 to 7 hp out of that engine classall depending on the options ordered........also of intrest check out NEW ERA........they have a 1/5th scale monster truck that runs on a 5hp briggs and goes 40 mph out of the box amongst other 1/4th 1/5 th scale vehicles ranging from hot rods to dragsters to an exsperimental 6wd electric vehicle but if you want the ultimate in scale and realism try this site from CONLEY

OMG....that is so awesome. Only wish I had the money for something like that. Thanks for the awesome website guys. The motors for the T-bucket and the Shelby Cobra look like they could kick some Butt. If anyone wants to buy me an early Christmas or Birthday present....I'll take one of them.

There is a road test in the latest(april 2003) issue of RC car action magazine on a 1/5th scale truck with the Zenoah 23 cc engine. It is one manufactured by MCD. It weighs 28 1/4 pounds has 8 inch tall tires is 4wd and they say it will hit about 40 mph.. This is the distibutor they give for it.

http://www.brooklynhobbies.com
http://www.teammcd.com

Also on that V8 car the guy posted above. Man that thing sounds so darn good in the video. That small V8 makes a nitro car sound like a honda. Just incredible. Thanks for posting the website.

the marder with 26cc conversion kit is awesome !!!!!
The top speed is about 80 mph with the 26cc. Put on a samba pipe and it'll fly, believe me!!!

A friend just finished 5th. on the European championship in the netherlands last weekend.
