Is this engine good. Easy to tune, control. And is it easy to break in.

RE: os 30
That engine is very good and OS ENGINGS has been in the engine games for many years. I have that engine in my lst2 truck and my lst is very quick, All threw the power band it doesn't loose a beat. If you want that engine and you want to spend less then go to Rc-mart.com and you will find it there for cheap!! Let me tell you that there are other good engines out there for a good price as well, like lrp, spec3, picco28,and so on. It's up to you. But if you decide on getting that os with the right break in and set-up you will not be disappointed. By the way that OS engine won the readers chioce award and you don't just win that award just like that.

I'm not saying OS isn't a good brand, it is, they put out some of the highest quality stuff... or at least the materials they use are...but, if you look at the internals of the 30VG, it's very bland, doesn't look like they put a whole lot of thought into this particular motor, looks like they put more thought into how it looks on the outside...
I should have added that my '.02' was based off of reading, and this is honestly the 1st time I've read more positives than negatives in one thread, for that motor. I can only think of one person from over at the MGT forum that had something good to say about the motor.
Snaut Rocket - I honestly think you can do a lot better for less money... eg: STS D28M combined with the STS #0702 pipe will run you about $170, or that pipe with the D30M will be about $190... both options are less $$ than I've seen the 30VG go for, anywhere. (plus you still don't have a tuned pipe)
And... as far as the 'user' reviews for the STS mills go? - Positives have far out-weighed the negatives. Both the D28M and D30M are screamers. I can actually speak from experience on this one
- I'm up to '.04' now
