Built a Bed Cage and Engine Fan.
First post in a looong time so I wanted to show off my newest fabrication.
I got my Warhead Evo last month and while it is down due to engine troubles (Duratrax replacing engine) I decided to go to town with some functional and cosmetic mods.
I decided I wanted to install a fan to help cool the engine, this is something I did on my old First Gen T-Maxx but I sold that truck a LONG time ago. So I used a CPU fan I stole from an old Pentium II Heatsync, a Micro Single pole switch from Radio Shack and a 9v battery. Some solder here and some dremelling there and voila!
Any how, let me know what you think... the cage is made out of aluminum brackets for white/wire shelving and the chains are from my shoplights that I didnt use. I need to get to Lowe's so I can make sure the harware matches but I put it together with what I had on hand in my parts boxes.

its doens't really help at all i know a couple people who tryied that and i think it increaded the temp of the engine. but if you have troubles with cooling you should really cut hole in the front windsheild

umm, if the fan is ontop of the engine, then how are you going to start the truck?
or will you take the body off every single time you start it up then put it back on?
i doubt the fan will do anything as the wind blowing at it through the hole in the body will cool it more than a fan ever will do.
great idea which i had before but in the end i concluded with it being not worth it

you need to build a water cooled head and radiator system that would let you run lean and at a cool temp, think of the power you could get that way. Back in the day the dirt bikes were air cooled now are water cooled and fast as all hell.

Those mods look cool. I like the rollbar. That fan will keep your engine temps down, but if there high now make sure its not a tuning problem.

umm ..with the roll bar mounted directly to the soft lexan body how ARE you getting any support. It seems that after a few rollovers you are going to punch out the mounting points
