I suggest 2-needle so you can tune the idle mixtiure. Cars with 1-needle carbs tend to have problems staying alive while idling.

Starting Help
Hey Pufferking-
The guys got so distracted with the idea of a different carb and didnt answer your original question.
Trun the needle all of the way in, and then turn it out 1 and a half turns. I find my Mega Force needs it to be turned in about 1/4 turn after you get the engine started and running to get it going to it's second stage burn.
If you checked your plug, make sure your starter battery is fully charged, and let her rip. There is the button on top of the gas tank that feeds fuel to the tank. Push the starter down so the engine is turning over and pump the button on top of the fuel tank. Be careful not to flood it. You will know when you are, since the engine turning will start making a boggy sound. If it does, quit pumping fuel, but let the starter still run, and generally this is where you will get it to fire up.
Also, make sure to let the engine run at idle for a minute before gunning it from cold, it just needs to warm up.
My engine has been great, and is actually a bit more dependable than my Traxxas.
Oh well. Hope that helps. I know the manual is confusing.

yeah my engine is pretty dependable but the electric starter is a piece of junk like in every other truck...and the pull starter is 50 bucs for the assembly
