It's the first RTR Savage HPI has come out with that finally solves the old Savage diff problems.. The new engine is supposed to be a screamer too...

If you're in the market for a new RTR to bash the c.rap out of, go for it..

Get a wheelie-bar though.. These new Savies are wheelie-machines...

I'm totally new to monster trucks and the Savage X RTR is my first one so I really cant make any kind of comparisons to other trucks. But I can tell you that I'm really pleased with it. The truck has only got about 1&1/2 gallons of fuel through it and I would have to say that it has already lived up to its reputation as the ultimate basher. I have flipped, rolled, crashed and beat the hell out of this truck. No broken parts or problems of any kind. All I've ever had to do is get it back on its wheels and off we go. My buddy has a T-Maxx that he has to continually tuning on and is never really happy with the setup. The F 4.6 that comes in the Savage X is almost a set and forget engine for me. The F 4.6 holds its tune up vary well from tank to tank throughout the day. Yes these things are wheelie machines I've flipped my truck over backwards several times so I would have to agree with PatrickBW that a wheelie-bar is a good idea. The only thing that I have ever had any issues with are the stock tires that come on the truck. They don't hook up vary well in really loose gravelly dirt witch is something we have a lot of hear in Arizona. But on a harder packed surface they do just fine. I would say go for it you wont be disappointed.
