Extra Tank of Fuel
Anyone know if it is fairly easy to add a second fuel tank to a TMAXX?
Also, any suggestions on best place to locate it and is the extra weight of the additional tank make that much of a difference in performance/speed?

an extra tank wont improve performance. it will just add more
run time.
if you are talking about extra tank with an extra engine,
yes it will improve a lot of performance
run time.

Thanks for the reply LS, I should have changed the manner in which I asked.
I am aware of the items you explained, what I am looking to accomplish is an increase in overall run time between pit stops and am wondering, if it is worth the sacrificed performance (extra weight), I think we all can agree that it is not really that big of a deal to pit, but there are momentrs the xtra time...in those crucial moments....of nitro insanity....it would be like a gift from the nitro gods...
I figure the xtra tank will provide another 10-15min as the terrain and fuel mix dictates...Comments?

that will definitely give you longer run time. close to double.
ignore the extra weight, double run time.
if one tank gives you 15 minutes. i guess 2 tanks will give you
28 minutes.
comparing to the weight of the whole truck, the extra tank and
fuel's weight is nothing.
for example, your rig is 5 pounds, the tank with fuel is quarter
pound(or less). the truck gains 5% weight, but the amount of
fuel gets doubled

i dont have a t-maxx, but finding a spot on the chassis is not difficult.
you should try to figure out how to get the fuel of the second
tank to the carb.
use a "Y" connector? let the engine use the fuel from both tanks
at same time? or use tank 1, then tank 2?

how about movign the box that the radio gear is located in and move it to another part of the truck, then use that area, i think movign the reciever box would be the best, or maybe the battery, well, thats for you to decide if you do this.

You will need to hook up the tank as a "feeder tank".
You can remove your battery from the box, this would be a good time to get a rechargeable battery, and zip tie it to the shock tower.
Then put the new tank next to the old one.
Look at 3maxxman's twin 40,it has 2 tanks on it.

Here is one thing you could do. Fullforce hobby has what they call a reciever tray. http://www.fullforcerc.com/ Click on the link on the left had side that says "Reciever Tray" That would move your battery out of the way and allow you to mount a fuel tank right infront of the original. Another option would be to mount it where you pipe is. I have CVEC rear exhaust so there is a big space where my old pipe used to be. You could easily mount a long skinny tank right there.
Just some ideas for you. I know both ways I suggested cost money, but it seems there aren't a ton of things in this hobby that don't Oh well keep on upgradin' and truckin' that's what I say....
