I used to live in south Mississippi and I know all about mudbug hotels. The easiest way I've found is to run the truck in some fairly tall grass at a good speed. This got most of the mud off of the suspension and the rest I blew off with compressed air.

just take out the servos and rx and cover the carb and give it a light hosing. you'd be suprised how much mud gets under where you cant see it.
denatured alcohol, compressed air, and a tooth brush work well.

I break stuff all the time so I tear my Maxx down about once a week.
Not everything just the tank and engine usually.
I spray a little simple green on it then spray it off w/ the hose.
Make sure not to get water in your Rx or servos.
The engine I do the same thing but put papertowels in the exhaust and top of carb.

Spraying WD-40 (or even PAM cooking spray) on the suspension components and chassis prior to running your truck will help keep it cleaner. It even makes cleaning the truck after a day of running easier.

In all the years i have been racing motocross , i have always used WD-40 or Some sort of a cooking spray , and put it all over the motor the night before the race. I'd let it soak in nice and good. Then after a hard day of racing , 99% is worn off , but it did a good job of protecting all the metals from corroding so bad and it made it so the red clay out here didn't stain the metal. It also help a HOLE BUNCH when it came to spraying the bike down.......................made it really clean!!

I have found that if you rub some shock oil on all the parts nothing woll stick for about one month. I use 35wt and it makes the anodized aluminum look new. not even fingerprints show
p.s. rember a little goes a long way.

I have been using Brake cleaner. At Walmart it cost around $1.68 for the same size can of Nitro Cleaner. If you read the labels, they are the exact same thing. Even the advertising on the can says same thing. -No risidue -Fast drying ect. I would not spray it on electronics just to be safe.
A friend uses denatured alchohol at $3.88 a qt or $10.00 a gal. It is found anywhere you might find paint thinner (same aluminum can). Put it in a spray bottle, use a tooth brush than air compresses the entire truck. He has a two month old RC10GT and the thing looks brand new out of the box.

I've found that a little simple green and a tooth brush do the trick for just put some water in a bottle and spray it off and your all set. I drove around on the road all winter and the salt came right off with simple green the mud is a little tougher, hence the tooth brush

Brake cleaner might work good....but whatever you do...DO NOT USE A MOTOR CLEANER!! You'll hurt the finish on the aluminum parts and it will damage seals and platic parts........stuff is like an acid almost.

As a diesel mechanic I use alot of brake clean, but one thing to keep in mind is that it will make plastic parts brittle and often times start to melt plastic pieces.

hog lard?
man thats going to extremes. even coating the trucks with anything seems like a waste of time to me.
after each run or each weekend of runs i usually bring the truck to my new work bench and take out the servos and rx. then cover the carb and exhaust and spray it with denatured alcohol and if toothbursh it down.
then rise it off in the bath tub.
man reason i do this is because i want to inspect it after each weekend of runnig to see if anything is loose or cracked and its a lot easier to do when its clean.
ive had alot of screws vibrate out and cause a part to come loose and then cause me to lose control and crash into a curb or something.
cleaning and inspection should be a part of every drivers routine.
