Here is my thoughts on this, I am not going to say get a Savage or a TMAXX, but where you live does your LHS carry parts for the Ofna line of MT's? That to me is the biggest factor in buying any R/C, the availability of parts. Where I am here it seems that none of my LHS's carry ofna parts within about 35 miles. So the easy choice for me was the TMAXX.

I'm ordering a couple spares of the major parts that break for these, i know i should consider that, but the only lines/brands my LHS's carry are Losi, AE, and traxxas. I dotn want what evry body has.. what are parts I should order spares of other than suspension arms and shock towers? I'll be new to nitro so...

Not real familiar with Ofna products, are they a pull start?? If so rebuild kits for a pull starter or a whole replacement. As stated other than that I really have never ran anything Ofna. Make sure you have plenty of glow plugs, a fuel filter, and make good and sure you get a quality air filter.

The mp is an awesome truck. After about 1 gallon the rear diff will strip out, as soon as it starts making grinding sounds take it out and ca or epoxy it together. Do the front too while your at it. They will last about 2 more gallons before they need replacing. By front and rear bulkheads and front lower arms. body potsts break a lot too. Take out the sway bars if you arent going to drive like speed racer. They just totaly stop any articulation by the suspension. This truck is a buggy, designed for racing, with big tires and a big spur gear. They changed nothing else from the pirate ep buggy. For mods get a 2 speed if you can afford it, a good pipe, and tmaxx size tires and mt3 rims. The huge tires make everything break really easy. Also when the hyper 8 port wears out get an xtm .247 or an ofna 25.

Wow somebody not telling me to get a savage.. thx for the tips, right now it has a Hyper 8port in it with about half gallon through it, how fast will thsi thing go? I was thinking 30 mph. The guy said to drop a 51T spur into it to make it go faster. I'm going to set it up for MT racing, because I like speed, so how much will the 2 speed run, and will i need to get a conversion for the tmaxx tires? thanks!

well jus talked to the guy, 51T spur beats the new tmaxxes all the time on the race track in corners and speed.

36.4 stock carb setings and gear at 0 altitude in nj on a radar gun. The older p4 only did 29.x something. the 8 port lacks the low end power to gear up and still be fun, but i think it has enough top end power to push past 50. Maybe with a 2 speed it would be fun.

I have a MP and I love it the truck is not built for alot of top end but on take off they are awsome. The only thing I have a problem with is the frt. bulkheads. I am fixing to buy the alum. ones, to me the A arms are easier to change than the bulk heads. I have also had a problem with the right rear out drive at diff. coming loose and not suppling power to the right rear tire.As my user name says mpsrawsome. The anti-sway bars are also not really needed if you are just bashing and climbing. I hope this helps
