Does anyone know anything about the new Thunder Tiger s50 monster truck. My local hobby shop has one in the window, and backs it to the hills! but I am unable to find out any further information either on the net, nor in magazines. Perhaps i am too eager as it is a new truck!

I want to know if this is the BEST EVER 1/8 Monster Truck as advised by my hobby shop, or are there similar other trucks that i should also be looking at?

in my opinion it may look impressive, and the .50 might seem impressive on paper, but in reality they're not as great at they're made out to be, i've driven an MTA4 with the .70 out of a TTR EK4 in it and really it sounds cool not revving real hard but having the speed, but a stock savage was outdoing it in the performance department, the MTA4 platform as tough as nails, but the .50 isn't the greatest engine there ever once was, i think you'd be better off buying the .28 version, and if you think the stock engine won't be enough for you sell it brand new on e bay to fund say a picco .28 P3 or LRP z.28 spec 3, and it will still come in under the price of the sledge hammer.

just my opinion of course.

on a side note, what you doing up so late lol, 2AM..

id suggest still getting the S50, as there has been ALOT of beefing up in the driveline done, larger shafts, transmission webbing, more bearing support on the shafts, steel spur setup etc etc. The driveline is ALOT stronger

The S50 is FAST, if u havnt seen the clutch bell on it its a huge mother lol. Top end speed is about the same as the 4.6 if not slightly faster, and still has a hell of alot of torque.

The sledge hammer is the same truck as the Team Associated Monster GT 8.0, thunder tiger are the owners of Team Associated, and seeing Associated is alot more popular in the US than thunder tiger, they release the truck under AEs name instead of thunder tigers name
