grease question..
question about grease.. i see that there are several kinds of grease and oil? now my questions are:
1) what is difference between grease and oil
2) i saw that grease come in light/heavy etc.. and oil comes in 30k, 50k etc. are they for different parts of car?
3) what kinda grease or oil should i have handy?
4) what is silicon grease vs lithium grease vs Stealth Black Grease vs green slime etc..
okay now the specific question is, i broke servo gear, i am planning to get new gear set and install it there. When i opened it, it was all greased. What kind of grease should i use there when i put in new gear? Its traxxas stampede servo.
i need grease for servo now, so while i am at it, i am planning to stock up a bit others too so was wondering what are all these differences and what should i get. thanks for everyones time guys.

RE: grease question..
Hey Neupane;
Here's some info that may be of help.
1) what is difference between grease and oil - http://www.rbibearing.com/technical/pdf/0405.pdf
2) i saw that grease come in light/heavy etc.. and oil comes in 30k, 50k etc. are they for different parts of car? Yes, typically, but some experimenting with your particular model(s) may be in order. For the most part, I prefer to use light black lithium grease in say the transmision, and silicone oil in the diff's. Heavier weight oils in the diff's will reduce the amount of differential slippage, which may be of more benefit while racing, but not so much if your just bashing.
3) what kinda grease or oil should i have handy? I like to keep on hand silicone & black lithium grease in at least two different weights, and three to five different weights of silicone oil.
4) what is silicon grease vs lithium grease vs Stealth Black Grease vs green slime etc.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicone_grease

What kind of grease should i use there when i put in new gear? I would use a silicone grease. Is the grease a translucent white type grease? If so, it is a silicone grease.
