Default Why Wont Magic Wheel Start?¿?

hi i have just sold my magic wheel to a friend. for $475cnd
and i just recived a new one in the mail for $400cnd.
and now it wont start. ive screwed up with facory settings. and now it wont stat. it is realy hard to pull the pull start and im getting a blister. have a good plug and glw starter. i have HS needel at 3 turns out and low at 3. idle stop at 2. and at idle the carb is open 1/3 of the way. what do i do. i got it started for about 30 seconds but then stalled and hasent fired up after about 100 attempts. and when it started it shot off like there was no cluctch.. what would be the problem?

Did you say "Abracadabra"?? J/k!

Man.. I cant tell you the answer.. but
Take it easy! If you pull it 10 times and it doesnt start.. dont just keep yanking at it.
Take a break, come back.. and Check everything!
Make SURE everything works perfectly.
What I mean is.. test the glow driver battery.. recheck the glow plug and test it to make sure it works. Make sure theres fuel MOVING in the line.. take some fuel out of the line and when you yank (with the glow plug off) see if the fuel moves up.

These things are quite simple.. only so much can be wrong

Also.. needle settings are important but I dont know about the magic wheel.. if its close to start position, the engine will sorta help you out and it will be sorta easier to pull

hope that helps!

As B.R.U. said start with the obvious, check the glow ignitor with another plug, then, remove yours and try it on the ignitor.

I just got my truck last week, but, have some experience with glow engines.
I dont know what type of primer your truck has, mines a button on the tank.
The engine floods easily, this is one cause of it being hard to pull.
If you know now that your plug and ignitor are ok, loosen the glow plug or remove it, pull the cord to discharge the excess fuel in the cylinder, be carefull, the fuel can shoot out and hit you in the face or eyes.
After you pull a few times , reinstall the plug and without priming, connect the ignitor and set the throttle trim open full and crank it.
Should be fairly easy to pull now, that work??

Looks like you beat me to the submit button.
The engine should turn over with no resistance w/out the plug in?

I havnt done this, but, dont see what it could hurt short term. Saw a thread here advising someone to loosen the glow plug a bit and crank it that way & run it a bit to loosen it up.

My engine was very stiff too the 1st few tanks of fuel, but, has gotten much better.

Get a real engine!
Moreover a real truck.
Why did you sell that lemon too your buddy? Then buy another one?
That truck is a knockoff.
You could buy a real Maxx for that amount of $ your spending.

I dont know about the driveline but the engine sounds like crap, plus the parts are generic.

Even w/ a proline kit your still payin' more than a new 2.5 Maxx!

yeah but no one likes the trx 2.5 anyway ...they all want something bigger and faster.
the magic wheel engine might suck(i dont own one) but from everything i read people arent too happy with the traxxas engine either.
best thing to do is after you tried all the above options and it wont start after a few minutes is go take a break, drink a beer or coke and then go back to it.
you might be overlooking something simple that will come to you after a break.

Yup.They are all stubborn from time to time.
My Maxx is in the process of a rebuild.
I'm putting a JT spider chassis on it and a new engine.
My M16 w/ less than a gallon is about done.

Alot of newbs get the tmaxx, this is why alot of them complain about not being able to get it to start. Simply because they are newbs and havent learned the tricks of the trade yet. this is why thier is a RCU.

No white smoke is BAd.

You should have BLUE smoke from teh pipe and if you have smoke coming from teh heatsink.. check you pipe connections you may be leaking from in there somewhere..

Richen the thing and make sure you take temperature readings to make sure its not overheating

You can loosen your glow plug a little to get it started. Then tighten it back up once the truck is running.
That should help a little w/ the hard compression.

Also you prolly need to adjust your idle screw if it stalls when you come off the throttle.
