Hi, i was wondering if anybody knew were i can get a detailed manual on how to take apart and put back together a CEN monster truck engine. Because it does not run and i took it to hobby town usa and they said it is probably gunked up with crap from it setting around for a year with bad fuel in it. so i wanted to try and take it apart and clean it out myself, than paying $30 an hour for them to work on it.

there is no detailed manual but there is a exploded view of the engine in the back of the manual. The engine comes apart really easy thou. Just remove the head and then the 4 screws that holds it to the motor mounts. Then unscrews three screws on teh pull starter and then 4 more on the back plate. After that u will be able to see in side the engine very good. Spary some nitro cleaner and there then wipe it out. After that drop some after run oil in there and resamble just like you took it apart. Rember to use lock tite on the motor mount screws when u put it back together.

I forgot to mention this part. THere is a spring and metal pin inside the engine. It connects teh back plate and the crank shaft. Make sure you do not lose it and or forget to put it back in. heres the manual page for u.

well i was just on the cen racing website and i read something on it that said you can send in your old worn out engine and they will send you a brand new engine. I just e-mailed them to see if there is any restrictions. That would be so sweet if i could get a brand new engine for free, just pay shipping. It would save me a big headache. Ok, peace [sm=tongue_smile.gif]
