Default MGT power

What is the best motor replacement choice for the MGT? Considering power and speed. I've looked at the werks .28 pro and several others but I would like to get some advice from guys with first hand experience.

WOW, THAT'S REALLY HELPFUL TO A GUY WHO IS LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS FOR AN ENGINE IN AN MGT!!! (yes that deserved caps lock)
Coincidentally, the only two r/c vehicles I have currently which are giving me trouble are a Losi MLST and a Losi Micro DT......meanwhile my MGT has 8 gallons through it over three years and in that time I've replaced only two broken parts: a front bumper brace and a universal shaft which had a set screw back out. Yeah these MGTs are really junk(I'm even on the original .21 engine...).

But that's beside the point. If my engine were to give up the ghost today, I would replace it with an LRP .28 spec 3. I've never heard anything but positive comments in the past about this engine--it has good specs, good reviews, and a normal two-needle setup unlike the axial everyone seems to love......most of all it's only $175.

Yes the Mach 427,LRP spec 3 and Picco .28 can all use and the lrp and picco can use this backplate.

http://www.killerhobbies.com/items/n...110-detail.htm

the lrp also needs this adapter to use the spinstart .12-.16 backplate

http://www.killerhobbies.com/items/n...134-detail.htm

Mach 427 already has the spinstart unit. What is your price range? think of it this way picco .28>LRP .28>Mach 427

lrp spec 3 .28, mach 427, and if you want cheap and ok axial .28 all good and fine for the mgt. I have the lrp and I'm very happy with it and worth the money IMO.

Ok so I would definitely go with the Picco .28 then. It has the most power of the 3 motor's. Dyno shows the picco has 2.03hp, lrp 1.8hp, mach 427 1.37. With the picco is has alot of torque so you might want to gear it higher.

Use this coupon code on tower to save $20 : 011EW

The motor is made in italy and very high quality compared to the lrp, and mach. I personally love the mach and I know the LRP screams. Still the picco has just as good rpm's as the lrp and pull's harder in those higher rpm's compared to the lrp.
