Default Monster Pirate Questions!

1. Does anyone make anything to use standard T-Maxx rims/tires on my Monster pirate?

2. Can I find longer travel shocks anywhere that will work?

3. Will a Force .25 bolt up w/o modifications to it. Would the stock exhaust work?

4. Also I've seen conversion for T-Maxx suspension/tires/rims all together. Do you guys know where I could get this?

I think you can use the dominator mt3 wheels and put tmaxx tires on there.
For longer shocks, I think you can use 1/8 buggy rear shocks, I use the mugen big bores I got from Ace hobbies.
A force .25 will bolt right in.
Ace also has the conversion kit for the Tmaxx suspension, but I got mine from Stormer and am using the RPM tmaxx arms instead of the proline suspension kit.
Hope this answers some of your questions

Thanks for the reply.

Also what is a better engine the .21 Hyper 8 Port or the Force .25? Both are in the same price range and they seem to put out just as much power.

THe hyper 8 port is the better engine by far, the Ofna .25 is pretty dogging compared to the 8 port. I have had nothing but good luck with the hyper 4ports and 8ports, I was a little disapointed with the ofna .25, but it seemed to be a fairly reliable engine and very easy to tune, the hypers share these same traits with better performance.

the dominator tires will work so you can use tmaxx tires. Any 17mm hex wheels and tires will work. The .25 and xtm .247 are great motors. The stock 8-port is real good too. I think the shocks from the titan will fit, there longer and have a threaded preload adjuster. Proline also has the suspension kit. Glue up the diffs and remove the swaybars if you arent going to be racing or anything. It really enhances the trucks climbing ability and traction. Also use the thinnest shock oil you have. 5 or 10 wt is good. The holes in those shocks are just too small to use heavy shock oil.

Is it worth upgrading to an 8 port Hyper if I already have a 4 port? Also aren't there 2 sizes of hubs that the pirate has? I think I have the larger hubs. Do they make kits to change this?

If you're talking about the axles, mine came with the new 8mm axles. I think the older pirates came with 6mm axles... I guess you can use smaller wheel hubs with those, but I think 6mm axles would be easier to break.

Yeah I guess I have the 6mm axles. I was thinking about changing to T-Maxx size rims/tires but I found some tires that i like that would fit on the stock rims.

I don't think the 4-port compares to the 8-port.

Would you know the horsepower rating of the 4 port? I know/heard the 8 port puts out 2.5HP and was wondering how they compare and if it's worth upgrading even though my engine is still good. Also what about the XTM 24.7. I hear it's a good engine any comparison to the .21 8 port? Thanks.

Default Hyper 8 Port

Ihave not seen a .247 run but I have a Hyper 21 4 port and it is rated 1.9hp@35000rpms the 8 Port is rated at 2.5 at 37000+- and I know the 4 port runs great on my MP and my brother has the 8 port and you can tell a difference in power both are very good motors and very dependable.

Yeah I gave up on getting my 4-port to run right so I ended up buying a Hyper 8-port. I can really tell a big diference in power. I also have a 2-speed tranny coming to me also. I can't wait to get my CVDs so I can get the Maxx suspension back on it.
