I don't believe it, even after my friend put this head in a lathe and trued up the glow plug sealing surface, it's still leaking compression. You can see the fuel bubbling out arond the glow plug when it's running. I don't get it. Even if I have the wrong glow plugs for it, they are the right thread size and they should seal. I have a Traxxas glow plug on order from Tower, so I guess if it leaks with that plug installed, it's a head problem. I just don't understand why it would still be leaking.

dang, that sucks. if it still leaks you can order a new and better cooling head for the 2.5 made by someone other then taxxas. cant remember who makes them but they are pretty cool.

Yeah, I could get one of those, but they're $45. The Traxxas heads are only $21.

Grampi, are you using the Traxxas plugs? If you want to try some other ones, I run OS #8. I also hear the OS #3, are the same plug for the most part, just less expensive. I also hear the McCoy MC-59 are a decent plug. Try them out, maybe they will work better....

Another thing you could do is to seal the plug with blue Locktite or high-temp GE silicone.

As mentioned earlier, try an OS or MCcoy plug. Maybe the Traxxas plug that you have was from a bad batch. Both OS & MCcoy are about the highest quality plug you can get.

I decided to order a Nova Pro head for my 2.5. I know it's more expensive, but who knows how long it's going to be before Traxxas decideds to get off their dead *****es and ship some more out the distributors/retailers. I might be waiting all summer before I can get one. besides, the Nova cools a lot better than the stock head.
