I know for certain I can take this hobby a little too far. and I only have 1 truck. LOL Since I got back into RC with the MGT a year ago, March 2007, I have burned over 15 gallons and made about 30 videos(between my youtube and google accts). Glad I have an understanding wife, but I can see how some wives wouldn't allow this.

i burn a gallon a week,upwards to 3 depending if i take my trucks to work or not.heres what i did,bought my wife a truck,tricked it out.she ran it a few times and got bored,sold it.introduced my 5 yo daughter to nitro this year,she loves it.she is out every chance she gets to run with me.every OTHER time me and my buddy head out to race or bash i make sure to invite her and my girls,trick is to not exclude your wife and family,but try to include them,even if she says no i still thought about her and at least asked.

you just gotta balance the hobby and the marriage. my wife supports my hobbies and i support hers. i do know however if i spend all of my time wrenching and racing my r/c cars, i will hear the nagging. it's understandable though, if she spent all of her free time taking photos and scrapbooking before long i would be asking "what about me"? i spend time with my wife and then i can dedicate some time to my hobby. it's all about balance. i keep my wife happy, that keeps me happy.

i dont know i think its built into their dna to nag or are taught it at a very young age, its all women mine does it and always complains about my trucks , like the other day she comes down into the workshop and sees alot of spair tires and rims on the shelf, most of you here have seen my shop and the shelve of tires and complains that i have too many[&:] i just busted out and said have you seen your shelvesin the closet with all the shoes and the shoe rack with only one pair of my sneekers and about 12 pairs of her shoes(no lie at least 12 on the rack and anothe 2 dozen in the closet) man was she mad and stormed out when i got the st1's she comlained that i bought more trucks and asked more like told me dont you have enough [X(] i said these are for racing and those were for running in the back in the mud and dirt like all the pairs of shoes you have all the different styles and colors and what goes with what out fit you have and once again she got mad.
i dont think i did something wrong by comparing the 2 but in her ming what she does its ok and what i do isint. mabeits me but obviosly it must be all married men [>:]

i have been married for ten years and have been running rc cars and trucks the whole time the idea of including the family is a good one but i have four kids and 3 have trucks of there own and my wife also enjoys it but the reality of it is you will spend most of your time fueling starting and repairing there cars and little time driving yours just giving a heads up even if you get them electric your still changing batteries all day the moral of the story is family time is great but some things are better with your buddies at the track and some nagging at home

rc cars are cheap, me and my dad recently bought new dirtbikes, talk about nagging.... blah blah this blah blah 25k on dirt bikes blah blah...

she had to have here 70k car though so it evens out.

Guess i'm the lucky one, winter time i race indoor electric dirt racing every second sunday from 6:00 am till 5: pm,
then sit around with the boys over a few cold ones, 9:00 PM time of arrival at home.

Then sometimes I go and see the other every Saturday night for indoor electric racing.

Thats at winter time.

Wow summer, no electric indoor, now its nitro outdoor everyday, thats when wife gets upset abit.

But if she asks me to go shopping with her its yes wife, this way I get air loose points.

The way I see it is the following

10 air loose point = .5 hr of racing

So if i go to the mall (with the wife) i figure it = 1 point / .5 hr

Believe me if you sit down and calculate all the air loose points I can accumulate it adds up

But the best one if you take her out on a date or bring her flowers that = big points.

Never ever had grief about the costs, considring in the last 4 months ive added 10 trucks to my collection

As long as her shopping sprees equate to twice the spending on defence systems implemented by some countries, I have nothing to worry about

LOL he said "mum".. So did you really just divorce your wife because of her not supporting your hobby? If that was the case I wouldn't support hers either(probably shoes). So it would end up workin itself out and then normally you get a make-up hug.. then a make-up kiss.. then ya you know the rest..
