Default engine problems with mgt

hi i bought the mgt about 45 days ago and have had allot of issues with the stock 4.6 after about 2 weeks the bottom skirt on the piston crumbled i rebuilt the engine and ran it thru the break in period by associated directions and i always run the engine a little rich and after about 3 weeks the engine cracked just above the screw flange the engine never got above 240 that i know of has anyone else had similar issues and what engine would you recommend for this truck i mostly care about torque and acceleration i run a lot of short tracks any help would be appreciated

i think i just got a defective engine with the engine you recommended list at 3.8 hp would i need to use a forward only kit for tranny

I don't see it being necessary but the FOC kit was the 1st upgrade that I performed to my mgt...It saves a massive amount of weight. With the new engine I would recommend using double wheel nuts on each axle or using loc-tite as the extra power will tend to strip the wheel hexes. You could also choose a larger wheel hex adapter and new rims.

wow, never heard of that happening, ive got 15 gallons on my 4.6, until the rear bearing let go, will still run if i could be bothered buying a new rear bearing for it LOL.

That's crazy[X(]. Never had a problem with my engine had some problems with the trans but the engine was solid for me. I have the LRP and it's fast lots and lots of power[>:] and I don't have the FOC on it and knock on wood I have not had any problems with the trans yet. did you call Team Associated?

If you let AE know they might help you out and replace it. They have pretty good customer service from What I have heard.

i agree with hili,i would contact AE.sounds like you got a lemon.if that does not pan out and you have to purchase a new mill,that LRP.28Spec3 is an awesome mill in the MGT

i got associated to send me the parts the first time to rebuild the engine which they did free of charge the engine is still under the 90 day warranty but having two major engine failures i just don't think its worth the trouble i like the looks of that lrp spec3 and the os 30vg can anyone tell which has more low end torque thanks for past response looks like i just got a defective one

os 30 has more low end but dont waste your money on the30.
Just get the lrp.

thanks i have been looking around on line the lrp spec3 seems it will do the job and comes well recommended I'm going to go ahead and order one thanks
