i see no use for it unless you run with out a body alot. maybe some chassis support buy you can fabricate a chassis support for less.
do you know what series aluminum it is?

I'd go with a full rollcage, it'll protect most everything onboard, tho the one in the pix is extreme, it does serve a very functional purpose, but, they can be expensive.

I've come accross this new roll cage and wanted to get some feedback here. Is anyone interested in this roll cage for $45.00?
This roll cage is "MIG" welded and
made of solid 3/16" steel - (very strong!!!!!).
Custom made for the T-MAXX and SportMaxx.
The body will fit over the roll cage. You will
be supplied with plastic ties. No drilling required.
Just fasten the plastic ties through the exhaust hole
on one side and the servo and center chassis hole
on the other. This method works great.
(An alternative to the chassis hole mount is to drill
a hole on the chassis just in front of the fuel tank.)
It comes painted in blue or red.

seanreit, if I were you, I'd bolt it down, it's not a "wait-and-see-how-it-works-out" piece, it should be permanant. Plastic ties have been known to break and your cage could do more damage than a rollover! After all, you bought it to protect your truck, right? Bolt it down.
Looks good!

rollcages are a waste of money, unless ur driving into spikes looking directly into your car, The body can do most the protecting. You arent going to break anything in a roll over anyways, specially if u have aluminum shock towers, thats the only REAL danger of something to break. MAYBE a engine head, but those are alot cheaper than a rollcage.

dude with my emaxx on rollovers, i never broke a thing. My friends tmaxx never breaks anything and he rolls over 24/7. ROLLOVERS ARENT A BIG DEAL. The crashes that do real damage are those that have to do with running into something, or landing directly on one wheel.

My EK got run over by a Stratus and the rollcage saved a lot pieces that could be salvaged, the engine, head included, the gearcases, servos, etc.! The chassis, suspension parts, wheels, shock towers were fubarred! The cage suffered bent mounting tabs and it's also the same exact one that's being mounted on my new truck!
Rollcages are the owners' call as to whether they are a waste. In my opinion & experience, they are not a waste.

I don't believe it's a matter of boasting about my EK being run over, as it is about the strength and possible need for a rollcage.
It's still the owners' call.

roll cage
Roll cages are the only way to go if you drive hard. Before the roll cage on my T-MAXX I was breaking a lot of stuff. One time I flipped over and landed upside down and broke my engine mount, rear bulkheads and body mount at the same time. I've got a light roll cage(4 oz) and at $50 it is good insurance in the event of a crash. It pays for itself in the long run.
