ok, I have yet to look at them. do you have reverse drill bits. they will get them out. if you can try to heat them up let it cool then try to get the screw out. the heat will soften the lock tight.

na no reverse bits......sad thing is a thought crossed my mind to heat up the parts before trying to loosen the set screw. Heads are too far gone though to try with the correct size allen wrench....Hey didn't sears sell those bits that remove stripped screws?

yes but half the time they don't work. can you get another size allen in there or a standard size. try a star type bit. sometimes you can get lucky.

Nope! I haven't but all I can say is that these XTM engines are really good, they can hold up together for a long time.

Well I have an HPI Rush, Traxxas 4Tec, a T- Maxx and an S- Maxx that I could put it into. All the .18 needs is a pinch bolt for the carb as near as I can tell.

Well if you put it on the T-Max make sure that the clutch bell dosent rub with the spur gear, I have a T-Max with a O.S CV-RX and it rubs by just a tiny bit need to be pull back a bit for a better center between spur and bell. I know the XTM might be a bit different but guessing that they bouth are .18 it could happen to you as well. (just leting you know), get us a vid once you get it running.

RE: Official XTM Monster MT Thread

Well I got some new rims and tires for the MT. I know they are smaller then what comes on the truck. I wanted to try to keep the big truck look but I don't like the stock tires. I was going to get the pro-line tires with there rims, I would need the bigger hex. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLPW5&P=7
So I will try Phenyx tires and see how I like them.

I went over the truck and there where alot of loose bolts and screws. Even the steering servos where out of alinement. I am sure glad i went over the truck. The radio is nice but I used my spectrum. I need to call XTM cause the display got worn from the shipping box. They never put clear tape over it to keep it nice.

Anybody have any ideas on nice big tires and rims?

RE: Official XTM Monster MT Thread

well have had mine now for about a gallon and a half and absolutely love the thing....although I must admit, when I looked this thing over before buying, I thought it would be able to take one hell of a beating!!! But alas I was wrong. The throttle servo is a joke (any moisture and it gets stupid), the cvd's break to easy, the hub carrier breaks on the slightest wrong landing, OWB slips, (have to put the truck in front of the heater before trying to start it, otherwise the OWB won't grab)...and the list goes on. But the upside is, got her tuned enough before it got too cold and I could get her to ride a wheelie if I hit a bump/jump just right. Sorry to say, but she's a SHELF QUEEN! Think I'll be looking into a lst xxl or the savages equivalent.
