dual rear exhaust..friend or foe??
Recently picked up a dual rear exhaust, a barnburner or barnbuster I believe, anywho, one LHS says no way sucks, makes tuning impossible..the other LHS says great, you will love it.
Have not installed yet, TMAXX OS 15CV, runs sweet with current tuned pipe...before I even mess with my current setup, is it worth the effort or should I just find a new owner for it??

Complete junk I never understood why people buy that junk!! THese guys are building them out of plumbing pipe and attachments that you can buy from a local hardware store for maybe $10, and then saying it is a "tuned system" and will give you "better performance" LOL, ya Ok. Key is you need a certain amount of back pressure for your engine to run properly, which these "plumbing things" do not allow!! I wouldnt sell that to anyone, just junk it and bite your tongue.

WOW..I wish I would have asked b4 I purchased...didn't spend but $15..so I am almost tempted to give it at least a tank of fuel.cant hurt the engine can it?
while on the exhaust topic, I did get a pipe that looks like my current tuned pipe, brand new...however, it does not have that nipple connector you use for the fuel pressure line..can you simply buy the nipple screw assembly and do it yourself??

THe best exhaust for your .15 cv in my opinion would be a big tube header and an ae tuned pipe(which has no pressure fitting but a small whole for the fuel line to go in) Tons of low end wheely power, and awsome top end, I ran this on a stock .15, os 15, os hyper 15, picco .15, and a Rb c-12. Just awsome results. THe TRX tuned pipe is a good one too, just not as good as the ae!!

Actually, from what I have read about running a non-tuned pipe, it can hurt your engine. It is suggested that you do not run this dual exhaust. If you want something like a dual exhaust, i believe CVEC, makes a pipe with two pipes coming out of the same hole. Probably not as cool, but it is a tuned pipe that will create the necessary back pressure that you need for your engine to run properly.
Hope that helped, and like someone else said, do a search about dual exhaust. There was much debate about it in several threads.

I saw a dual pipe that was surposed to be tuned,
It was not made of the plumbing type of tubing but, rather welded with an expansion chamber and re strictures inside it. It cost much more then the ones you see on Ebay but, I can not remember where I saw or can get it!

You guys rock..thanks for all the feedback..here is a pic of the pipe I purchased..
the original intention was just to get the messy oil out the rear, I normally use a length of celar silicone tubing zip tied to the rear, works great just looks ugly..I thought wow rear pipes..cool...oh well, at least I only spent 15bucks and not 40 like others..

dual rear exhaust..friend or foe??
I have a brand new XTM X-factor rear exhaust with header that I used for two tanks and had to remove it because I changed wheelie bars on my Mad Force and I had to use the stock body post location which was blocked by the rear exhaust. Long story but end result is I can't use the XTM exhaust on my truck, and personally, I like the AL650 pipe better on my setup.
If you're interested in buying it contact me at [email protected]. You can see pictures of it on my website under the link "XTM rear exhaust".

Jedi,
Looks like you've got a pound of spray painted copper.
I personally wouldnt use it.
But if you cant get it to run reliably and dont mid the extra weight go for it.

JBrannon..I also think so, I have not received it yet, but I am thinking I'll give it a go and see how it performs..one of our fellow NITRO LUNATICS on this forum, CaseyDDR said it best in another thread... and I quote him...

RE: dual rear exhaust..friend or foe??
please do NOT put this on your truck i had purchesed one from e-bay the truck ran great but extreamly hot. this will kill your t-maxx.DO NOT GET THIS PIPE. it is only 1/2 " copper tubing that you can buy at home depot and will not give your truck any benifits that will do you any good. please purchese a good name brand pipe . it will cost you a bit more but it will be worth it in the long run.

i also purchased a barnburner exhast pipe off ebey
i love the thing
it sound nice and loud and make my truck perform a little better
ive had it for bout six months and havent had any problems with it
it doesnt make ur truck run hotter either
ur truck can run hot with the stock exhaust on
u have to tune ur motor to ur liking
i think its great thing to get if u want to spend the money
