Default How is the durability of the stock shocks on the savage?

So I just ordered the savage ss xl. I want this as a basher and would prefer to avoid modding it (I have spent way too much money on this stuff in the past). Anyway, I am concerned because the stock shocks are plastic. I have never even had a 1/8 scale buggy that did not come with aluminum shocks. anyway, I really dont care if they are plastic as long as they dont break much.

The XL is brand new so who knows, the previous savages have made great bashers!

The stock Savage shocks are actually pretty notorious for being really good for just plastic.. They will hold up well to regular punishment, but extreme stunts will break them. The only weak point on them is the shock shafts, I have broken 2-3 shafts already and they all break in the same spot, maybe I got a bad batch. If you dont want stockers, you can always go LST shocks which is a bit costly or go the buggy shock with custom towers route which is also expensive. Good luck with the new truck[8D]

I've had the best luck with the stock shocks. In fact, every time i tried other aluminum shocks, thats when i had failures. lol. The only shock i'd like to get now, is that new HPI big bore. They look gooood.

Sorry I meant the x ss. Good, this is just a basher and im not looking for ultimate performance. I really did not want to shell out that much for thoes shocks.
