Know anything about the T-MAXX?????
OK,
Well I spent many an hour reading everyones posts and coments. Mostly about the opions of the T-MAXX vs. Savage.
After many hours I decided to go with the T-MAXX.
So far I have just broke it in and run about 5 extra tanks through it.
THIS THING IS AMAZING! I meen hang on! Performance, performance, performance!!!!
So whos got one of these? And what do you think I should upgrade on this thing first!
what to get?
P.S. I think Im having a little rear shock problem. (they dont return to horizontal on their own) Are they just cheep shock? Should I replace these first? with what ones?
lets hear it...

The stock shocks are junk (IMO). At the factory, they don't fill them all the way up with shock oil like they are supposed to be. If I were you, my first upgrade would be to traxxas big bore shocks and fill them with 50wt shock oil. Don't be suprised if you start having trouble with the 2.5 engine eighther (I'm sure you've read plenty of negative things about it). After the shocks, I would upgrade to the sirio 18 engine (If you start having trouble with the 2.5).

YA...
I think your right about the shocks...Are the traxxas big bore shocks the best ones for after market?
I did read alot of complaints about the 2.5 engine, like you said. Thats why after only reading adds about the t-maxx I desided to get the savage. I went back to the t-maxx after reading that the savage includes parts to replace the stuff that breaks right away!
This isnt a good sign! Plus its the 1st year of their monster truck, and in the real world that means RECALLS on the real thing...so I went back to the t-maxx!
I just hit my tree doing about 30mph! It only broke one a-arm. Took it apart glued it and its back up and running!
As far as the engine goes, I broke itin to a T! I also purchased an onboared temp gauge. So there is no reason that it should start weirding out! If it does Ill let everyone know.
How much is that Serio engine? Work good?
And is there a tuned aluminum pipe for the 2.5 by traxxas out? Anyone try it?

You can get great deals on Ebay,
They have tons of aftermartket shocks but, beware! Not all of them are that great! I bought about 6 sets of 8 and only 1 set was junk! I will put up some pictures of the junk ones and the ones that I like! And just to add my $.02 big bore shock are as stated much better then stock but, not the best! I'll put up the pic's in about 15min!

You can get them new on Ebay for,
As little as $40 but, more like $50-60. The piggyback are good but, what name brand I can't say because I don't have any.
Here are some pic's of the one that I like and don't like. The good one is on the right and the one on the left you are able to open from the bottom and top of the shock and this one leaked from the bottom as soon as I put oil in them! The one on the right works great and they are just like the shocks that Hotbodies make. Sorry this is a pic of the good one! My next post will have the other one!

Everyone prefers 1 over the other. My wife loves the TMaxx. I prefer buggies. I have an OFNA Hyper 7 PBS. I also have 2 TMaxx 2.5's. Both are great depending on what you want.
TMaxx is good for jumping but I am do better jumps with something that has a lower center of gravity. They are all good stuff and a lot of fun.
Attached is a pic of my wife's TMaxx with an aluminum CVEC pipe for rear exhaust.

I also have had my T-Maxx since Feb. and it is still a work in progress sort-a-thing. My wife is actually getting jealous of my truck. I have the Pro Racer Hobbies chassis, Racers Edge Alum. bulkheads and chassis braces, RC Raven alum. bumpers, RPM skid plates and suspension, Integy alum. shock towers, MIP CVDs front and rear, Dynamite center CVDs, threaded alum shocks and fuel filter, RRP steel spur with RRP forward only conversion, SportMaxx rims with TRC Bowties, Proline steering system with Hitech 645 servo, MX3 radio system with rechargeable nimh pack for receiver, the last thing I'm waiting for is the Serio to top it all off. This truck is going to be awesome with that engine. I am trying to figure out how to post pics and when I do I'll show you the end product. Yeah right like I'm not gonna find something else to put on this thing. By the way it just weighs in under 9 1/2 lbs.

That's a concept I'm not familiar with. They do sound nice though. They sound like they're roughly the same price as the Traxxas big bores and they aren't threaded. If I'm paying $10 a shock they're gonna be threaded.
