Steering Linkage question
I just bought the new JR (the crystalless kind) and I'm installing it in my tmaxx. I also got a hitec 645 servo for steering. I thought I read somwhere not to use the stock steering setup with this servo and to use a hitec servo arm. Also, I hear alot of talk about the Kimboro (spelling?) servo saver. Can somone link me to the one I would need? Also, what does this do? Will I need it if i just use a stock arm? Also, how do I set up the linkage if I don't use the t-maxx spring loaded circular thing (don't know what it's called). A pic would be nice... Thanks

Steering Linkage question
I have the 625 and the proline steering kit and it turns standing still the whole range. I got the 625 because they were out of the 645 but it works fine and has more speed but a little less torque. I believe the proline kit is about $35 and well worth it.

You have a couple of options when it come to servo savers. You can get one that mounts to the servo, like the stock one and the kimbrough. Or you can get a whole new steering bellcrank system with a built in servo saver.
Whole new steering belcrank with built in servo saver. This is what I have and I really like it.

This system has a built in servo saver, it is very responsive, and is better than the stock servo saver (the white thing that is on your steering servo) IMO. Things are sharp and crisp.
The other way to go is to use the stock one, or buy the kimbrough http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXS362&P=7 The reason you would buy the Kimbrough is that the stock one wont fir the Hitec Servos.
I would say go with the new belcrank system. When you buy these systems you should get bearings with them making your steering even smoother.

The SM one was a bit expensive for me, so I went with the Pro-Line. Some have had problems with the Pro-Line loosening up on them, but that's nothing a little thread lock didn't fix.
