Hey guys, a buddy of mine got a savage and instead of babysitting it for the three tanks that you're supposed to, he let it rip. After the third tank, it won't start well and it now shuts down after it's started. What do you think he ruined by not breaking it in properly? The piston and sleeve? what else? Also, if it is the p&s how much are they to replace and where can i get them? Thanks.

Nan, unless he went nuts and took it to the 300s, I dont think he really did too much damage to it.

Under normal conditions, it wont exactly "rip" after 3 tanks of gas unless he leaned it out already.

Any case.. reset everything.. clean out the engine etc..
And try again.

IF it doesnt work, get a compression guage and see if its ok.

That motor isnt that great, if its toast, get a nice OS 21 or something and have fun!

i see it as a blessing, the .21 hyper sucks lol jus dont be stupid like 1 of my friends who got a .21 hyper 8port as a replacement for the stock engine in his savage. boy did I laff at him.

4 port mainly, All i hear is how horrible it is to break in, how often it doesnt like to run, and how it tears up gears. the 8 port is decent, but not much of an upgrade vs the 4port IMO.
