Default Traxas .15 EZstart

Posted this in the wrong forum yesterday...

Older Traxas .15 EZstart? (post # 1)

I just recently picked up a used Traxas .15 with EZ start and need to know how many cells it needs to turn the starter motor. It turns over good with a 5 cell 6V pack but that is with no plug or fuel.

I was hoping 5 cells would be enough...trying to get on board remote start just for fun in a project truck.

Thanks,
Veritech

The 7.2 volt stick pack is hardly up to snuff. You have to have a back up at all times. When the engine is tuned well and in 100% no problems mode it's OK. As soon as you run into any kind of starting trouble, the pack is dead in a few minutes. A 6v hump pack will never work.

Agreed!! Need to run a higher power battery pack, 6 cell 2000's work well, even 1700's. But as soon as you pump fuel into the engine that 6volt pack will die very quick!!

i have an older .15 traxxas too and after day 2-3 when i first bought it, the e-z start came off and i bought a $15 pull start.

i never liked it but i heard the #2 version is better.

i say instead of spending money on a battery pack just but the pull start.
