Skydive if your cord wont retract than it might have just gotten stuck. When you take it off get a screwdriver and turn the pullstart(piece that goes connected to the engine) counter-clockwise with a flat screwdriver. Most of the times it'll grab again and the cord will retract. I've saved myself a few dollars by doing this.

Yeah me too.
It's at least worth taking apart and trying to fix.
Then if you can't you can always just buy a new pull start.
It's only 3 screws on my trucks.

Did you break the string? If so, just buy a new string for it or go on Ebay and but a cable pull-start that will never break again! They are a bit costly but, should be wroth it if you never break a string again! I have used "Yank eliminators" before but they ware out way too fast so I use the stock one-way barring and a socket and extention with a cordless drill and have had no problems with it!

my pull start sticks to, but instead of disasembling the pull starter i just turn the fly wheel with my finger and it start to retract, then zip...retracts normally, try this might save u 10-15 fiddling with the exhaust and removing pull start cover
