Default New competition. Hotbodies Dirt Demon vs MGT Preview spec comparison

Hmm.. Tip: dont go to hotbodies.com. Porno site.. LOL

- HUGE Hot Bodies Dirt Demon truck is over 18 inches wide.
- HUGE, POWERFUL .26 SIZE BIG BLOCK NITRO ENGINE!!
- Innovative handheld electric engine starting system!
- Fully independent wishbone suspension.
- Extra long suspension arms.
- Pillowball suspension linkage.
- 8 ALUMINUM shocks soak up the rough terrain.

Check out the starter:

Highlights:
Aluminum shocks. Not plastic!
.26 engine! Should have a tad more torque than a .21 but it all depends on what engine were talking about. So I guess we cant say much till we look at em go.
From what I understand.. This MT will be cheaper than the BFT.. while actually giving you more!
This MT comes with everything you need including the glow plug and all. Only about 10 bucks.. but thats 10 bucks you dont have to spend extra! (for a first timer).

MGT:

Overall length: 22" bumper to bumper Chassis type: Extruded aluminum channel
Width: 17.25" wide Chassis material: Aircraft-grade aluminum
Height: 10.75" to top of cab Drive axles: Big universals
Wheelbase: 14.5" Slipper clutch: Disk type
Tire dimensions: 6.75" tall, 3.5" wide Transmission: 2 speeds forward, 2 speeds reverse
Weight (RTR): 12 pounds Bearings: Yes

Engine: .21 size rear exhaust Suspension type: 4-wheel independent A-arm style
Starter: Dual-function starting system Shocks: 8 oil-filled, composite bodied
Air filter: Double-stage foam
Manifold: Aluminum Electronics

Exhaust: Dual-outlet muffler Radio: Associated XP-3 3-channel
Fuel tank: Large capacity, dual pickup (runs upside down) Steering servo: Associated metal gear
Throttle or shift servo: Associated

Highlights:
Dual exhaust?!
I wonder what the price will be. The dirt demon is actually pretty expensive (retail is like 500 bucks). Even if its 400 I'm not sure I'd buy it. I'd personally go for a rolling chassis, but I'd rather buy the MGT over the Hotbodies if theyre the same price.

Now TA.. RELEASE THE DAMN THING!!

It looks cool, I wonder what the GC is on it. and also would be curoius to know how fast it goes. The only thing i dont like about it is the plastic radio box, it kinda makes it look cheesy even though its there for a reason

Default Here is the GT BFT!

The Associated Monster GT truck is another BIG contender in the growing battle of the monster trucks. The Associated Monster GT project code name of BFT is very appropriate. Bigger, Faster, Tougher.

Powerful Monster GT Thunder Tiger Big Block .21 engine produces around 2.1HP @ 31,000 RPM! Unique dual outlet exhaust directs oily residue away from Monster GT. Dual stage foam air filter protects the powerful BFT engine. Associated Monster GT has an extremely strong and rigid aluminum extruded chassis. The MGT chassis design and layout offers superior protection for differentials. Associated Monster GT BFT has incredible ground clearance! Monster GT comes equipped with big universal drive axles. The Associated Monster GT comes with a 2 speed forward/reverse transmission. A disc type slipper clutch protects the MonsterGT transmission and driveline. Ball bearings help the Associated BFT move with minimal friction. MGT has long travel 4 wheel independent A-arm suspension. 8 oil filled shocks help control the Monster GT suspension movement. MGT comes equipped with 3 channel Ace Jaguar radio system. High torque Ace S1807 metal gear steering servo direct the massive BFT wheels. Innovative dual pick up fuel tank that allows MGT to run upside down! Powerful dual disc brakes controls the incredible momentum of the huge MGT. Monster GT shocks & wheels are compatible with widely available T-MAXX parts. The Associated Monster GT BFT has HUGE 6.75" tall x 3.5" wide tires!

UPDATE 04/05/03: The last information that we heard about availability on the MGT was that it was due to be released later this Summer. When we get more detailed availability info, we plan to post it here. We do not have pricing information yet. Associated is taking their time to get this thing right. They are not giving out details. We plan to post price and availability info when we know.
