spur gear

Default spur gear

I just installed a new spur gear on my savage, and now the darn thing will not catch. I am not sure what i did wrng. But the metal thing in back spins with and pressure at all is there a secret i didn't here about? Please help I need it fixed so I can go rip up the mountains theis weekend! Thanks, drew

Hey Drew...take the spur gear off again and make sure you have all the parts that the book shows. It is real easy also to get stuff not aligned right on the spur. If it worked before, and now it does not, it is the way it was installed. When I installed mine, I forgot to put the bushing that goes in the spur gear. Boy I felt stupid...anyways, look at the diagram and reinstall everything. Hope it works. I used to live in Del Rio. I have an uncle that lives on 6th there.

Yeah, Del Rio is. I used to snorkel at Lake Amistad all the time. I would go spear fishing all the time. That is the only good thing about that town I remember. Are you going to school there or possibly stationed at the Air Base?

had same problem i forgot to install small washer with the hex on the nut and spring side

I am not stationed at the base. But I do go out to the lake alot. I kind of quit lately because they banned jet skis.
