well think about the price cause a monster truck will run $400-500 and a high quality buggy can run you over twice that.
where are you going to be driving? going to be racing?
if your not racing id say mt

It totally depends on what you plan to use the vehicle for, and the terrain you'll be driving it on. I have a T-Maxx, and my friend has an LX Pro buggy. I can tell you the buggy is faster, handles much better, and jumps better, but the Maxx will handle a lot rougher terrain because of its ground clearance and longer travel suspension. It's tough to say which is more durable as neither of us have really broken much yet. I can tell you there's more parts available for the Maxx than any other RC vehicle in the history of the hobby. That might be something to consider.

I have many R/C cars -
If you are doing back yard bashing and having fun with friends, I prefer my TMaxx 2.5 all the way.
Serious off road racing - I prefer my Hyper 7 PBS. You can serious rac the Maxx but I do not like how it tips easy. I like taking corners with WOT.
The buggy also handles hard landings better with stock factory parts. Now the buggy you mentioned, I talked to OFNA before buying mine, they were discontinueing the LX Pro.
But in the end - nothing else matters, other than what you will have the most fun with. Don't worry about what everyone else thinks or says. Just make sure your LHS has replacements parts readily available.
Attached is a pic of my Nitro TC3.

I called and talked to OFNA. Told them my 3 choices on cars and They said the ultra was being discontinued and advised me to get the MBX Pro at the time - I bought the Hyper 7 PBS instead.

I went to tower hobbies. There were 3 cheapest and that what I asked OFNA about - for what I can aford, which would be best of the 3. I was looking at bottome line dollar.
THey said other 2 were being discontinued, so if all i could aford was those 3 get MBX because it was not being discontinued. As I said I spent more and got Hyper 7 PBS RTR instead.
Word of advise for those getting the PBS RTR - THe starter box sucks ***** - It is not powerful enough to turn over the motor. I had to buy OFNA biggest starter box to get this thing to turn over. Now it works great and LOVE my buggy.
