I'd think you could run 2 lipos, there is no cut off though...you could have problems if you over discharge.

ok thanks but im really rough on my batteries and this will be my first experience with lipos cause all my other batteries litterally exploded from running my truck so hard [:@] and i heard that lipos can go through a ton of abuse and i dont want to shell out nearly 150 dollars for something that wont last me at least 3 months

You can run it yes, but without a cutoff you run the risk of over discharging them and ruining them. Also LiPo's can be dangerous so if you're hard on batteries you may want to stick to NiMh.

The cutoff isn't in the battery, it's in the ESC or a seperate unit. You can buy a cutoff seperately, but I'm not sure how that works with the EVX-2's dual battery setup.

I've never used a seperate unit so not sure how it hooks up, I've only used ESC's with them built in. Basically when the LiPo reaches a minimum voltage (if you discharge a LiPo below 3.0V per cell it will ruin the battery) the cutoff will cut power. I've also seen some that just lightup an LED to let you know to stop.

Edit: [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPGN1&P=7]Here[/link] is a Novak 4s LiPo cutoff. In order to use it though you would have to make a harness to connect your packs together (The ESC does this internally anyway so it wont hurt anything).

Edit 2: Removed

REC is the reciever. Instead of the ESC connecting directly to the reciever, it will connect to the cutoff and the cutoff will connect to the receiver. This is so that when the cutoff detects the low voltage in the packs it will cut the throttle. There is no cutoff that will work with your truck with no modification unless you went brushless, in which case the ESC would have it built in.

No sorry and I couldn't find any in a quick google search. You can try contacting Traxxas and Novak for help though. Traxxas probably wont help you since they don't reccomend running LiPo's witht he E-Maxx (because of no cutoff) but Novak should be able to help.

I removed my drawing, I wasn't thinking straight and had them wired in parrallel instead in series like they need to be. I know how it has to be done (I think) but you should contact Novak and Traxxas to be sure. Personally I'd just stay with NiMh unless you go brushless.

Edit: OK I've corrected my drawing, this is how I think it would be done, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe someone else can help.
