anything that will fit other than the stock rim. That is a problem that HPI has with their rims because the stock ones are plastic and have a little slack in them, so the tires won't fit tight. Get a set by traxxas or after market rims. It will help alot.

I have a set of proline big joe 40 series and a set of tmaxx size rims with mulchers on my savage. Both are cool for their purpose.
I'd say stick with the big joes.
They give you a lot more stability.

I would maybe look into some beadlock rims too...those look sweet and you don't need any glue.

i prefer plastic rims, very light weight and look great when you dye them very cheap too.

one of my tc tire got stripped when i put them on the savage..while i was running the other tire just took off..btw do you need to upgrade the clutch set up if i am changing my wheels/tires say hotbodies ufo tires or prolines bj's and velocity 6 wheels?

I blew my engine due to the big joes...

The savage is not geared for them, need to go to a 16t clutch bell. Not sure on the tmaxx, but thanks to my big joes i have a one month old savage sitting on the shelf waiting for my picco .26 and new clutch set up to arrive...

I never saw a thread in here about upgrading clutch and the guy at the LHS never thought to mention it..

Oh well, good excuse to upgrade...

HPI released some Locking hex wheel hubs to fix the problem. Id suggest you get those next time I know they will be going on mine to avoid the problem.

I hear they work great, and give the rims less play. probably improves steering slightly too.
