Ordering a Savage X SS. I need some guidance.
Hello. I'm going to be ordering a Savage X SS here in the near future. It'll be my first REAL nitro Monster truck. I've owned nitro and electric planes in the past. I also almost have owned a MT. Well, it's a Cen Fun Factor MT2. LOL. Almost a monster truck. Well, kinda.
Anyways, I'm excited to get the order placed. What kind of necessities, and accesories am I going to need for the build? And suggestions on a radio and servos. I'm far from having unlimited money to spend on the project. What radio, reciever, servos, paint, batteries, tools, and so on am I going to need.
I'd love to just be able to place one order and get everything I need. So, if you have a moment... Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Links would also be great. I'm probably going to order from Tower Hobbies.
Oh yeah, any good excuses to give my wife when she sees the bill would be great too!!

As far as radio, its nice to stick with the 2.4ghz. The airtronics mx3 is pretty cheep now i believe 150 or 130.
Associated ds1015 and 1013 are really nice servos for steering and throttle.
And some nice allen wrenches will help to.

RE: Ordering a Savage X SS. I need some guidance.
You will need the radio basics:
Radio Tx and Rx
Rx battery pack
Steering servo
Throttle servo
Small zip ties to bundle the wires
Plus build basics:
Paint for the body
Tire glue
Other than that, the kit comes with everything. Hex keys, loc-tite, grease, and shock oil are all included.
You will need the standard running gear: 12 AA's, or a rechargeable Rx and Tx set, glow starter, and an extra glow plug or two wouldn't be a bad idea.
