A few Q
I'm quite new in RC, and there is not so many driving in my area.
So internet is my #1 source for info - which include you guys
Here's a few things that's been buggin' my mind lately....
1 - Why all the strips on the enignes "cooling head" ?
2 - Why so much fuel-line?
3 - My most recent truck is the mad force, i've read about removing a "cone" in the pipe to get more power. What do you think about that? And i was thinking of replacing the gs21r, what will fit?
Any good tips for mad force is gratefully accepted

Hey there!
First off don't do anything to your pipe! That cone is what makes the back pressure and that is something you need for your engine to run right! Second the strips on the engine are to protect it in a crash (probably zip ties) and third what do think is a lot of fuel line?? You need a line going from your fuel tank to your carb and one from your tank to your pipe to pressurize the tank!

This is a moderate example, i've seen so many having fuel-line all over the car....what's to gain using the long fuel-line instead of a short one straight from tank to engine? Is it for "storing fuel" ?And what about the heat from the engine? That won't melt the zip's or fuel-line? Probably a dumb Q since everybody fit zips and a lot of line.....

fuel line question
there are some advantages to having the extra amount of fuel line. lets you have more fuel in the systen other than whats in your tank....(some people put extra fuel filters in the supply line to hold extra fuel..) also the extra line gets the fuel away form the engine. the cooler the fuel is, the better the engine will run...

A few Q
The main reason people have fuel line coiled between the fuel tank and the engine is to keep a fuel supply to the engine when you roll your car/truck/buggy/MT on it's lid. When a nitro car is upside down, the fuel pickup in the tank is sucking air. If that air gets to the engine before it is put back on it's wheels, the engine will stall. If you are racing, this is disasterous. If you are playing, this is annoying.
The reason for the coil of fuel line between the pipe and the fuel tank is to regulate the amount of tank pressurization you get. If you have too much tank pressure, increase the length of the fuel tubing. If you don't have enough pressure, reduce the length. (FYI - one of the symptoms of insufficient fuel tank pressure is when your vehicle dies with half to a quarter of a tank of fuel left and it was running great, is at proper operating temperature, and will fire right up and keep running as soon as you refill the tank).

A few Q
I ran my Mad Force without the cone it seem's to have slightly more top end and gives up a little bottom. The cone holds the seal for that part of the pipe so you have to seal it differant. As far as engines most others will fit if you get the Kyosho upgrade engine mount you'll also need a differant flywheel and header pipe. Most are happy using the stock engine until it wears out. It gives very good performance with great fuel economy and seem's to last a long time. Here's a link to Kyosho's add on parts.

What upgrades do you think are the most needed?
My truck is plane stock. So far i've decided to get the universal drive shafts and maybe a tuned pipe...

It's running faster because,
It's running leaner! Without the right amount of back pressure to the tank it's not getting the right amount of fuel! You can do this by leaning out your HSN but, you are shortening your engines life by doing this as well! It's up to you! A little bit more speed or longer engine life?? I will go with engine life anyday!JMHO

A few Q
Sorry I guess I just assume that everybody knows that when you change pipes you have to retune. Beleive I dont run any of my engines lean neither top or bottom and it still changed the power band at the same temps. I have the CVA's,soft shock springs,lighter shock oil,Paris AL-650 pipe and the steering links. Oh I also have 3000 wt in the diffs.
