what would be the best electric rock crawler for under $500? ive seen and heard good things about the clodzilla 4 set up but from what ive seen those caust like $700+. looking for something that can climb just about anything, i have an e-maxx but without a 4 link suspension it cant do some of the things i want without rolling.

was just curious for future refrence or for possible trades. and in REAL rock crawling independent is NOT the best =P i can tell you first hand =). independent doesnt allow for enough flex.

ya, the txt-1 is a great monster truck , but for pure rock crawling all u need is a clodbuster with a gecko chassis conversion. this chassis is made for rock crawling. plus clod is better because its motors are atached to its axles for some good low center of gracity, ( unlike the top heavy txt-1)

get a xtm x-factor, its nitro, rtr, and like $400. best nitro out there for rock crawling, it resembles the txt-1. but it will compleatly squash a maxx or savage.

The custom buggy stlye indepdent IS the best for rock crawling but its just cheap and solid axles are lots more fun , if you want profe not just from me read in 4wheel mag's and you will see that style the *readers writers* complain cause its just not "true 4wheel" not trying to start a flame war bit you know....

how about a Geko Chassis some aluminum body shocks, a set of clod gearboxes and wheels from Rc4wd.com. Then a super rooster and some magnetic meyhams. The geko is the best crawler chassis I've ever seen. I'm thinking aobut buying one myself.

Default geko

well it is super bad ass and all but the only flaw i find in it is its waight distrubution. and he would end up paying $180 for the kit. at least $100 for the clod diff.s, then tiers and electrical equipment, motors, exc. i know if i would have bought that chassis kit by the time i finished the truck i would have well over $500 in it. and if i wanted to go all out crazy I would go with that kit, dual hacker brushless motors, pro line bigjos, and all the other good stuff

i would get the txt-1 just for its looks. the clodbuster is corny looking with the motors out on the axles. the txt-1 stock is just as good or better than any clod conversion you can get, and all the work is done for you already. i would buy a dual motor esc thats high frequency (>2.5 ghz), and at least 17x1 motors for extreme torque.

do you even need to buy a clod buster to use the gecko chassis? it looks like it just needs electronics and a body
