Is This A Bad Idea?
I was thinking about removing the head on the savage and squirting some artic silver ceramique thermal compound on the engine where the head mounts, then re-bolting the head on. I figured it should pull more heat away from the engin then, so the head would get hotter but the engin would get colder.
Good idea ? Bad idea?

I don't see how it could hurt anything. Unless the head-to-block surface is used to seal the combustion chamber, then you might run into problems. I don't know if it would make that big of a difference though...
